Actually Delicious Turkey Burgers

Reviewed: Dec. 17, 2009
I made this recipe as-is with the exception of using a whole egg instead of just using the egg whites. I did not have any problems with the patties falling apart. Even though they did not taste like beef was beside the point, because turkey shouldn't taste like beef to begin with. They had a unique and good flavor of their own, and I would definitely make them again.

Delicious Black Bean Burritos

Reviewed: Jun. 3, 2009
This is an awesome recipe, that is simple and easy to prepare. The recipe makes two very large portions, that actually could feed four people. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Update 7-18-09: I have made this numerous times since this original review. Sometimes I follow the recipe strictly, other times I change it up. I've substituted one diced habanero pepper in place of the jalapeno for more heat, and I have also tossed a few diced up sun dried tomatoes in the mix giving it a subtle sweetness along with the extra heat. In all forms I have enjoyed this recipe thoroughly.

Garlic Cheddar Chicken

This may not be my favorite but this is pretty good. Not a 5 star home run, but it's not bad at all. Comes in handy when you have one of those days when you are trying to figure out what to cook.

Sweet Restaurant Slaw

Reviewed: May 26, 2009
There are many recipes on this site for Cole Slaw that do indeed look great on paper but produce anything from mediocre to down right awful results. This one on the other hand mops the floor with all of them. This one looks like Cole Slaw, smells like Cole Slaw, and tastes like Cole Slaw, and is indeed Cole Slaw. This is now my official "go to" recipe for Cole Slaw. Sandi, thanks a million for this recipe submission. You really hit this out of the park!

Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Reviewed: May 18, 2009
This came out perfect. I mixed half of the cheese in the mixture, then I followed other reviewers suggestions by splitting the mixture into 2 layers and sandwiched the remaining cheese in between. I also made a wide shallow well on the top layer, and poured a (1/4 cup each) mixture of ketchup and brown sugar with a few drops of Worcestershire sauce blended in the mixture as a top glaze.

This is a great recipe! I made this and took some with me to work with my lunch, and I was quite pleased with the results. It is a quick and flexible side dish.

Taco Seasoning I

This works out very well and is easy to put together. Great seasoning for Mexican foods. A far superior substitute for the packaged taco seasoning, and a great submission.

Brown Sugar Meatloaf

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This one is definitely a grand slam! I made it as is with the only change I made was to put the sauce on top with a small splash of worstershire sauce in the mix. This one was definitely knocked out of the park. I used really lean ground beef, and still spooned off any excess greases. This recipes is a great submission. My hat is off to the poster. :)

Homemade Pork Sausage

Reviewed: Mar. 16, 2009
This was very good. I made the recipe as-is and I think it tastes exactly like it should. I don't think it is too hot at all. It is far less greasy than store bought and less salty. I will be making this again. This one gets the thumbs up. P.S. I mix the seasoning with the meat, then let it rest in the fridge overnight before I make it into patties.

Quick Pasta Sauce

Reviewed: Mar. 13, 2009
I was quite impressed. I didn't have any of the store bought stuff yesterday, But I did have the ingredients for the recipe on-hand. It was simple straightforward and a very flexible recipe. I used this recipe with some seasoned ground beef, and the end result was a sauce that fit the bill perfectly. Rague, Prego, and all the others as of this post are all officially FIRED! I'll be making my own from now on. Peace.

Jayme's Cole Slaw

Reviewed: Jan. 10, 2009
This is not a bad recipe but the apple cider vinegar needs to be reduced by somewhere in between a third or a half. The vinegar was just a little too overpowering.

Tofu Sandwich Spread

Reviewed: Aug. 23, 2008
This recipe is off the hook! In its basic form it is really good, delicious indeed! However I did add my 2 cents to it after my initial tasting though. I added a 1/4 cup of raisins, a sprinkle each of, sea salt, coarse ground black pepper, paprika, red curry powder, ground red pepper, sesame seeds, and about 2 additional tablespoons of mayo to compensate. I swear it tastes better than any tuna, egg, or chicken salad I have ever made. I never knew it could be done better with tofu! This one, even without altering the recipe, is a keeper in my honest opinion.

Thai Curry Tofu

Reviewed: May 7, 2008
I loved it! I followed the recipe to the letter with the exception of substituting peanut oil in place of the canola oil, dried cilantro in place of fresh, Emeril's Essence in place of the season salt. It was off the hook! P.S. This recipe works good with chicken as well. Two chicken breast halves is the perfect amount.

Classic Chinese Pepper Steak

Reviewed: Nov. 15, 2007
I thoroughly enjoyed this recipe. It was a simple to make and practical meal. I had used 1/2 lb more meat and an extra pepper so I increased the oil and stir-fry sauce slightly. The only thing off the path that I did was add a pinch of salt and black pepper. This came out fantastic and I will make this in the future.
