Oven Roasted Potatoes

This recipe was really easy. I thought it wouldn't be enough oil for 4 potatoes but it really was. The spiciness was good as they seemed to get spicier when reheated. Would also make great breakfast potatoes.

Pecan Pie V

This recipe was pretty easy, amounts were good, filled the pie exactly. The problem I had was not the taste but how it looked. I didn't put any pecans on the top before baking, thought I'd add them when the pie firmed up a little. The problem was that putting it in at 400 immediately put a hard crust on the pie so putting pecans on was no longer a possibility. I'm used to seeing pecan pies with a soft top, not a leathery brown hard top. Other than appearances, the pie tastes great. So I might try it again with the suggestions of reviewers to bake it longer at a less hot temperature.

Coconut Macaroons German Style

These worked out fine. I cooked them until stiff and then let cool down. They are good, just not wow. I love meringue and love coconut, so I thought these would be amazing, but I won't be making them again.

Chicken Cordon Bleu II

I was really surprised I couldn't give this more stars after making it. The sauce was really plain. It smelled great with the wine, thought it would be fabulous but it just wasn't. Also with the super long cook time, all the cheese ran out of the chicken making it very plain. More toothpicks might have saved it, but I will not be making this again.

French Onion Soup V

This soup was pretty good and pretty easy to make. It wasn't wow! I guess it was pretty classic but wasn't bursting with flavor. I added quite a bit of salt as well to make it a little more flavorful. Looking at other recipes, I added Worchestershire sauce to the leftovers and it did give it a better flavor.

This was pretty easy. Like other reviewers, I used dijon mustard. The sauce was not at all spicy. The fish was ok, sauce was ok. Was nothing special for me so I will not make again.

Easy Raspberry Sorbet

This was very easy, a bit pricey though and hard to calculate for a Canadian. Just so others know, in Canada, our cool whip tub comes in 1L, this means you need to use 3 cups of it for this recipe, not the whole thing. Also if you get a regular can of lemonade, it's 12 ounces, so you need to use half of it. I would not make this again as I feel guilty about eating whipped oil/fructose corn syrup products, but if you are allergic to dairy, it's a great option. More lemon would be nice, maybe giving it a kick with some rind or juice, you can always taste it before you freeze it :)

Puttanesca or Kalamata Kwik Sauce

I would rate this 5 stars except it was a bit too spicy for me. Next time I will halve the amount of crushed red pepper. My nose and eyes were running! I felt bad feeding this to my mother who has trouble with spicy foods. But the flavor was great and the ingredients are all on hand so I will try again. It didn't look like this would be enough for 4, but it really was. Alongside I cooked an entire box of whole wheat penne (also for 4) and the amounts were perfect.

Chicken Pot Pie IX

Like other reviewers, I baked the bottom of the pie empty for a few minutes. I also used corn instead of peas. Instead of salt, and celery seed (which I couldn't find), I just used a teaspoon of celery salt instead. I also added 1/4 tsp of garlic powder.

Dessert Crepes

This was pretty good. Took awhile to get it right... very little oil is needed, and pouring directly into the pan and very quickly rolling it around in the hot pan worked well (the less dough the better). Went through 3 pans before finding one the right size to turn these with a spatula without butchering them. Also went through 2 spatulas, the rubber flexible one was a nightmare, went with a thin metal one. Tried with ham/swiss and with nutella. Would try again, they did not crisp up like the ham ones I had in Paris though :(

Potato Chips

One potato made one large plateful. Count on doing atleast 4 or 5 potatoes, since they are so delicious! They were so much better after being left to dry. My microwave took about 12+ minutes though.

Tomato Chicken Parmesan

The coating for this chicken was great. Really tasty and easy. I thought the tomato sauce really overpowered the taste of the parmesan unfortunately. I will probably make this again, but without the tomato sauce.

Mama D's Italian Bread

First off, I'm no expert in making bread. I made it once in high school and once in a bread machine. Many times I thought I'd messed this up, by not proofing correctly or overcooking. Just had a piece and it's heaven in my mouth! Great recipe, will make again for sure.

Basil-Lime Sorbet

This reaches a really nice consistency in the blender, just like sorbet. However it was waaaay too sweet for me. So I blended in some more water, lime and basil (everything but the sugar). This way you can modify it to your taste. Very refreshing. Would give it 5 stars if it wasn't so sweet right off the bat.
