About this Cook
I've been cooking for myself from a young age. It didn't take me long to start learning to add those extra little touches to my food that made it go from good to great. Improved the family chocolate chip cookie recipe when I was only 12, so much so that my grandma agreed that it was far better.
My favorite things to cook
I love cooking complicated things and constantly pushing beyond. There is nothing more I hate than throwing something in the oven. I want to be cooking for hours, we usually don't eat until 9 at night :)
My favorite family cooking traditions
I always loved how my grandma would give me the step stool and show me how to make the family recipes. We still to this day don't write them down...it is an oral tradition passed on for generations!
My cooking triumphs
The first time i cooked a cheese cake is turned out perfect...I have yet to accomplish it since!
My cooking tragedies
I made the worst tasting souffle that I personally feel has every been on this planet! Some day, when the taste leaves my mouth, I will try it again...but that could be years!

Beer Cake I
I made this for a fried's bachelor party that i was helping my husband host. I figured it kinda fit their theme of Beer! My husband asked me only 2 hours before the party if i could make a cake and some snacks for them. I got on here and found that recipe and cooked it up quickly! Everyone loved it. I made 2 pans of it and the 11 people at the party ate every last bite within an hour! The soon to be married even told me i had to give his soon to be wife the recipe! Thanks for the recipe!

Perfect Cherry Pie
Oh wow! This was a really great cherry pie that isn't too overly tart (like so many are). The only change that I made was that I had an extra Granny Smith apple left over from making apple pies so I sliced it up and added it to the cherries. It gave it that little something extra. And the crust was so good! I put it in the fridge for 1 hour then in the freezer for one hour. It was rich but a little flakey. And instead of just brushing on egg white I used an egg wash (1 part egg white and 1 part water). The crust goldened up so nicely!

Apple Crunch Pie with Vanilla Sauce
I got so many raves for this recipe with a crust recipe if also found on this site. I made it for Thanksgiving and as a house-warming gift...both didn't survive the hour! The only change I made that was instead of the Hershey chips i used ginger snaps (crushed them up in a food processor) and on the second one I also added about a table spoon of maple syrup to the topping to make it stickier and it made it so much yummier! I will be making this a staple of our holidays!
