The Happy Wife
About this Cook
I am a mother of more than a quiver of children, one of which has autism. I work from home in ministry and homeschool my younger children (once they hit high school, they attend a charter).
My favorite things to cook
Well in cooking I would say I am really good at candy. Otherwise, I think I am probably a better baker than I am a cook. Desserts seem to be my strength.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom made excellent candy and pies when I was growing up and that seems to be my strength as well. Anything I bake that is a treat, like banana bread, blueberry muffins, etc...come out killer! I also decorate cakes for our personal use.
My cooking triumphs
It took me quite some time to master tacos the way my hubby likes them.
My cooking tragedies
Honeycomb usually takes me about 3 tries to get a batch I think is spot on. The other 2 go in the trash. I have had a homemade angel food cake collapse. I have made a recipe on here that tasted so bad it smelled like PUKE throughout our house (wonder if it was intentional??? LOL!)

Peanut Butter Bars I
I hate peanut butter cups, but I like these. Most people raved about them. I did adjust the recipe to use more peanut butter and less butter, for better flavor.

Quick and Easy Pizza Crust
My family actually likes this recipe the best of all pizza crusts I have tried. They like that it gets crisp on the bottom, even if baked on a cookie sheet. I usually add some seasoning to the crust, such as garlic powder, Parmesan cheese, and sometimes some Italian seasoning. It is very good, no complaints from me and it is ready FAST!

Broccoli Ham Ring
Okay, here is what I did that my family LOVED! I used chopped up ham lunch meat, a lot of shredded colby jack cheese, 1/2 c to 1 c sour cream, about 1 T mustard, garlic power, and salt. I used my food processor to chop up celery and onion and then softened them in butter over med low heat. I steamed a lot of broccoli. Mixed it all together and put it on the laid out crescent rolls. I also melted butter and used a pastry brush to cover the top and sides of the crescent ring before baking.
