About this Cook
Professor of Mathematics, amateur cook, yummy cookie baker.
My favorite things to cook
Cookies and cakes. More out of necessity, because my wife tells me we can't live on cookies, I also enjoy making some normal dishes, pastas, meatloaf, etc.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love creme puffs, but I don't yet know how to make them.
My cooking triumphs
A 1-2-3-4 cake. Even though the recipe is fairly easy, the cake dries out really fast if you overcook it. After three tries, I finally got it.
My cooking tragedies
Egg nog when I was 16 years old. I used all of my mothers eggs and the nog was terrible. It was probably the recipe. lol

Original Nestle(R) Toll House(R) Chocolate Chip Cookies
The original has to be a 5 star recipe. However, if you want to avoid your cookies being flat, consider the following. Use 1/2 tsp of baking soda and 1 tsp of baking powder. Also, this is a must, chill the dough for at least 30 minutes. The cookies won't be super fluffy, but it will be the best you can do with a recipe which uses all butter. But keep the butter, its much better than margarine or shortening. In my humble opinion.

Creamy Chicken on Linguine
This recipe was wonderful for a new cook. The instructions were very easy to follow and the meal was delicous. I made the recipe for 6 servings and it required only 1 clove of garlic. Next time I will use two. Also, a generous dash of garlic salt, once the meal is on the plate, makes this meal better than restaraunt quality. (In my humble opinion)
