Amazingly Good Eggnog

This eggnog is great! I live in China... not exactly the land of eggnog. My husband loved this recipe. We can only get full cream here so I substitute whole milk for 1/2 of the cream. We also leave the rum out and sprinkle a little nutmeg on every cup we serve. It's delicious!

Black Bean and Corn Quesadillas

This is an excellent recipe! I made it tonight and had to substitute cheddar cheese for the monterey jack cheese and tabesco for the red pepper flakes. It was so delicious and even my meat-loving husband agreed!

Pumpkin Butter

I just made this recipe tonight and I thought the spices were way too overpowering. I ended up throwing out my first batch and I'm working on a second one. I think I'll start by adding 1/4 of the amount called for and then add more to taste after that. My husband and I thought it was way too spicy and not good at all with the amounts listed.

Awesome Honey Pecan Pork Chops

Outside of fixing pork in my crock pot, these pork chops were the most tender I've had. I followed the directions almost to a T. The only change I made was to add a tablespoon or so of maple syrup because I was low on honey. They were so tender and delicious. I'm definitely adding this to my list of staple recipes.

Creamy Veggie Fondue

I made this for a fondue party with friends tonight and it was a hit. I followed the recipe exactly but added the milk at the end as other reviewers suggested. I added a bit of lemon juice as a precaution but I don't think it was needed. This recipe does have a little kick to it but we loved it!

Key Lime Pie VII

My husband is a key lime pie fanatic and he LOVES this recipe. I used two cans of sweetened condensed milk and it was perfect. I will definitely be keeping this recipe on hand forever.

Holiday Peppermint Bark

This recipe was really good. I was so excited because I am a classic burn the white-chocolate in the microwave woman. So, I used a double boiler. I simply put a metal bowl on top of a pot of water and turned on the stove. I used half white chocolate chips and half dove white chocolate bars because that's what I had on hand. Dove is really good chocolate (for what I can get, I live in Asia) and next time I think I'll use all dove. I also had about 2 tablespoons of crisco, but it melted so well that next time I will use less. I used 5 candy canes (2 for the top and the other 3 mixed in) because I didn't have the normal peppermints and used a 9 x 13 pan (the recipe didn't specify). I'll definitely use this again.

Soft Oatmeal Cookies

"These were the best cookies I've had in a long time." - My husband. I followed the directions to make the dough exactly and then added chocolate chips to half the batch and white chocolate chips and craisins to the other half. The taste and texture were awesome and I was really appreciative of a simple recipe without a mile-long list of ingredients! I'll be making these again!

Cinnamon Sugar Biscotti

This was my first time making biscotti and it turned out fantastic. I followed the recipe exactly and just tried out a few pieces with decaf after dinner tonight and it was delicious. Not rock hard like some biscotti but just right!

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

This is one of the best cornbread recipes that I've tried from this website. I could tell from the taste of the batter that it was a winner and it was. My husband loved it. I didn't change a thing except cut it in half and cook it in a loaf pan since we were the only ones eating and it was gobbled up.

Grilled Shrimp Scampi

I followed the directions for this recipe to a T and it was just so so, nothing wrong with the flavor at all, just wasn't the best thing I've ever tasted. I was out of parmesan cheese but I wished I had had some to add to the flavor, I think that would've added the right touch. Good for dinner, but nothing special.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

This is a good recipe for chicken, not out of this world or anything but really yummy and a nice change from typical grilled chicken. I marinaded the chicken for 7 hours and cut it into strips and broiled it for 10 minutes on one side, flipped and brushed with sauce and let broil for another 5 minutes.

Baked Teriyaki Chicken

This chicken was so good! I followed the recipe exactly except I used boneless chicken breasts and baked the chicken on 350 for 15 minutes covered then added the rest of the sauce and cooked it 20 minutes uncovered. It was wonderful!

Baked Spaghetti

This is a really tasty recipe. I made it in a snap tonight with leftover spaghetti sauce that I had frozen and I used fresh sour cream instead of cottage cheese. I didn't have fresh parmesan on hand so grated from the can. I cut the recipe in half and that worked really well in an 8x8 pan and I cut the cooking time by about 5 minutes covered and another 5 minutes uncovered. Thanks for a great recipe!

Delicious Raspberry Oatmeal Cookie Bars

I took these bars to a friends house for dinner and 4 of us demolished the entire batch. They were such a hit! I followed the recipe to a T except for using strawberry jam because it's what I had on hand. I tried the white chocolate drizzled on top, it was a nice addition but the bars can certainly stand alone in flavor, next time I probably won't go through the trouble.

This recipe didn't at all taste like chocolate icing to me, I think it probably needs more cocoa and less brown sugar and butter. I probably won't make it again.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

I don't like broccoli except for maybe in a broccoli casserole smothered in cheese or bread crumbs BUT this dish was fantastic! I bought 4 heads of broccoli for 8 people thinking that there's no way one person would eat more than 1/2 a head... I was WRONG the dish was gone in a flash and I wish I'd made more. The only thing I did differently from the recipe was add 2 teaspoons of cornstarch to the sauce before boiling to thicken it up and I substituted almonds for the cashews because that's all I had. So great, I will definitely be making this again.

Playgroup Granola Bars

made this up tonight because my local import store was fresh out of granola bars and they turned out great... I didn't have wheat germ so I crushed up a cup of cornflakes, I'm a peanut butter lover so I added a spoonful of that, and used half raisins/ half crasins. SO GOOD. I also only baked them for about 20 minutes and the were perfect! YUMMY!
