About this Cook
I am a mother of an 8 year old girl who has grown up to be quite the Foodie. My husband and I both enjoy cooking. I also work full-time for a not-for-profit organization. Cooking is my hobby, definately a Chef "wannabe". If I won the lottery and money was no object I would go to school to become a chef.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook food that is healthy yet very tasty. I truly enjoy trying new recipes and methods of cooking. We love garlic. I see garlic as the "denim" of the culinary world, it goes with everything like your favourite pair of jeans.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My family and I tend to eat in far more than go out to restaurants. We will have a theme night at our house. Sometime we will have a Cuban, Indian or Italian for examples night and prepare the entire meal according to the theme.

Savory Pork Stew
We really liked this recipe. This is what we were searching for! We cooked in the slowcooker all night on low and re-heated for dinner. The milk was added right before serving. Did a basic rue and added it in. Definately be tossing out the other pork stew recipes.

Lemony Quinoa
This was our first quinoa recipe. We liked it very much. Next time I'll back off a bit on the lemon juice. We sauteed the veggies as we don't care for raw onion. Will make again for sure. Might add garlic next time.

Chicken Stew with Dumplings
We really enjoyed this recipe. We doubled the ingredients. On Sundays I always try to cook double something to have a night off through the week. The only change was that we sauted the celery and onion and added fesh garlic.
