Slow Cooker German-Style Pork Roast with Sauerkraut and Potatoes

Hi Diane!! Let me tell you my dear, this was absolutely fantastic!! You know me; not a big meat eater but I adored this recipe of yours. I did add carrots per my future SIL's request and of course my usual garlic and onion powders. So yum and thank you!!

This is the kind of food that just about every man loves. I did add some garlic powder and a sprinkling of caraway seeds. Served it with kielbasa and everyone was happy. Thank you Elizabeth!

Quinoa and Black Beans

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
I love quinoa and loved this recipe too. Being that cumin can overpower a dish, I cut way back on the amount. I'm also not a cilantro fan so I subbed with fresh parsley. Such a healthy little dish and thank you!!

Chicken Mole

Reviewed: Feb. 22, 2012
I've never had mole sauce before so I've nothing to compare it to but we really enjoyed it. The kids aren't fans of the raisin so I left those out. Served this over rice. Yum and thank you so much!

Delicious Ham and Potato Soup

Reviewed: Jan. 27, 2012
With a few changes this was absolutely delicious Ellie! I used chicken broth in lieu of the bouillion, added carrots and my usual garlic and onion powders, dill and parsley. I cut back on the amount of butter suggested for the roux and thickened it further by adding instant potato flakes. Yummy comfort food that my whole gang oooed and ahhed over. Thank you!!

Ham Glaze

VERY good Christina! One of the big clubs has spiral ham on sale so I snatched it up. I didn't want to use the packet of glaze it came with so this was the perfect alternative. YUM! Thank you!!

Garlic Basil Mashed Potatoes

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
So good but I did have to add milk as it was just a bit too thick. I used fresh basil instead so I needed to add just a little more. Very different and such a nice change from the norm. Thank you Deana!

Cajun Blackened Catfish

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
My future SIL called this fish "killer"! Ha! That's a good thing, btw and we all thought so too! I'm still trying to adjust to the fact that down here in KY I can't get really good fish like I did in Jersey. Catfish is big here apparently so this was a great way to cook it. Thank you Paul!

Fast Chicken Divan

Just what the doctor ordered Bertille! Quick and yum being the operative words here, this recipe delivered! As always, I added in more seasonings, but other than that, it was great as is. Thank you so much!

Ham and Noodle Casserole

Reviewed: Jan. 24, 2012
Kelli gave us a basic and good starting point with this casserole. As is, it needed to be highly seasoned so that I did with my usual garlic and onion powders along with parsley and a bit of dill. I felt it needed some milk to to make it a little creamier and more liquid so the onion could cook. What I love about this dish is that you can add just about anything to it to make it a more of a complete meal; broccoli, green beans, spinach, peas, mushrooms and so on. This is true comfort food and one we all enjoyed. Thank you Kelli!

Broccoli and Sausage Cavatelli

Reviewed: Dec. 2, 2011
I didn't have sausage in the house so I used chicken instead which worked out just fine. We're garlic lovers so a whole head made it perfect for us. For the same reason I significantly increased the parm and to make it just a little more saucy, I added in about a cup of chicken broth. Quick, easy and just delish. Thank you!

Tender Chicken Nuggets

Parm adds such a wonderful flavor to the breading so I added much more than called for. I made a lot of chicken so I used two cups of bread crumbs and one cup of parm. I also garlic and onions powders and a bit of oregano. To help the egg stick, I floured the chicken first. The big kids loved this just as much as the munchkins. Thank you!!

Funky Enchilada Casserole

So YUM! I used ground turkey, made my own taco seasoning (less sodium) reduced the cumin and skipped the cilantro. I layered this like a lasagna using enchilada sauce on the bottom and between the layers. I can't wait to have the leftovers for lunch today! Thank you Anne!!

Fabulous Homemade Bread

Reviewed: Sep. 30, 2011
WELCOME FALL and I'm so glad it's bread baking season again! Nothing not to like about this yummy bread. I always use honey instead of sugar to proof my yeast but I did use the brown sugar in the recipe as I wanted the flavor of the molasses to come thru. It was light on the inside and nice and crusty on the outside. It went wonderfully with our green bean soup. Thank you!

Mark's Cabbage and Hamburger Delight

Reviewed: Jul. 26, 2011
This actually turned out pretty good! I used evoo instead of butter and decided to par cook my noodles separately. Once the beef was browned I removed it and wilted my cabbage. In addition to the seasonings suggested I also added garlic and onion powders. The noodles and liquids were then added and I let it simmer until most of the liquid was absorbed. A great way to use up all the cabbage we've been growing! Thank you so much!!

Garlicky Beet Delight

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2011
Rob and I decided to grow beets this year along with everything else and all I can say is, I'm SO glad we did! Rob went out to the garden Saturday to pull some up and we made this recipe. OMG, I couldn't get enough! What a huge difference between the store bought stuff and a fresh beet from either your own garden or from a farmers market. This was such a simple yet really delicious recipe. I just went outside to pull several more to make again tonight. Thank you so much!!
