About this Cook
I cook almost everyday and I have since I was about 12 years old when I started having dinner ready when my parents got home from work. I really enjoy cooking for dinner parties or just for my husband and myself.
My favorite things to cook
Normally I like to try new things. I've recently gotten really interested in baking bread.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I grew up eating and cooking traditional Southern fare. I've been lucky enough to have my horizons broadened far beyond what I ever could have imagined since my husband is an Indian immigrant. He and his mother have taught me authentic Maharastrian recipes which are a lot different than typical Indian restaurant food.
My cooking triumphs
Most recently, I made crescent rolls (Colleen's potato crescent rolls) for Christmas dinner and my brother said they were better than my grandma's famous rolls.
My cooking tragedies
My tragedies have always involved burning something.

Miracle Soup
This was good, but not great. If I make it again, I will cut the recipe in half.

Migas II
This is so good and so fast! I like that the recipe is a basic method. I added a little ground cumin and red chili powder. This recipe is perfect for those times when you don't really want to cook, but still want something yummy.

Dried Cherries, Pecans and Rosemary Brie en Croute
This is one of those easy things that looks really complicated when it is finished because it is SO pretty. I watched the videos and used the tip of cutting extra pastry dough into leaf shapes and arranging them on top. I took this to a party and everyone was very impressed and there was nothing left over.
