I'm 26 year-old welsh, scotts-irish, english, german girl who loves food! I love tomake traditional foods from my cultural backgrounds. I have two cats, a hedgehog, and a horse. My boyfriend, John, enjoys cooking as well and meals made together are always the best:-) I have recently found a passion for baking bread. My first loaf w/o a bread machine was a hit and I've been working on my bread making skills ever since. My grandmother was a traditional german woman and she knew her cooking. To her, food was love and no one ever went hungry in her house. She used to make us cookies every year for Christmas. She couldn't do that anymore when she went into the nursing home 8 years ago, and she passed on to the sumemrlands a little over a year ago. I have decided to pick up her tradition. I just hope I do her cookies justice. I love to make chicken curry, and it's always been a success. As a freshman in college, I decided to make her encrusted lamb on a whim. It was a hit. Bread, of course has been a recent success. My first jelly roll was a failure. I want to try again some day, but I haven't got around to it yet.
