28 year old single Mum of 3 fantastic kids aged 6,7 and 12. Work part time (31 hours a week) but love cooking in my spare time. I'm always on the look out for trying new ideas and ingredients in the kitchen that my kids and I can try. I'm hoping to get my kids cooking more and they are very much involved in choosing dinner ideas already.
My favorite things to cook
Main courses involving chicken, prawns, beef and pork go down well in my household. I've been trying new ideas for my crockpot too. I haven't got much of a sweet tooth but will have a go at a dessert recipe if I take a fancy to it. Love pasta dishes and couscous too and want to cook more fish recipes too.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love making a huge pan of ham and vegetable broth when the weather turns cooler in Autumn. It's delicious with some crusty bread. I also every year make Christmas sandwiches on Boxing Day with leftovers. Turkey, stuffing, sliced chipolatas in bacon, diced roast parsnips, creamed swede and cranberry jelly in thick sliced bread!!! Any leftovers from Christmas dinner are gone by Boxing day evening as any family members who visit always request one of these!
My cooking triumphs
Any new recipe that all my kids agree upon is a triumph in my eyes!
My cooking tragedies
My first try with my bread maker came out flat and hard!
