Hi,
I'm Alicia. I am a new mom and wife. I love spending time with family and friends. I love cooking. Over the past few years, my cooking skills have gotten much better. My husband is an excelent cook as well. We both enjoy it very much and I would have to say one of my husbands favorite hobbies would have to be eating. My daughter is 11 months. she is now entering the world of solid foods. She is so perfect. She always wants to be eating what mommy and daddy are eating. I would have to say that most of our family life is spent in the kitchen. Now that I am older, My mother and I spend a lot of time cooking together. Even my brother and sister join in. Cooking is a lot of fun. I am always looking to find new ways to improve.
My favorite things to cook
I enjoy cooking quick and easy things. I feel like I am always on the go. My husband and I seem to always be on seperate schedules. Most times I am coming and he is going. I try to make healthy wholesome meals quickly. My favorite types of food are mexican and italian. I mostly stick with what I like. Although I try to change things up from time to time.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My favorit cooking tradition..??....
Well the dish I always remember is broccoli and chicken rice dish. My mom always made it and it is one of the recipes I continue to make on a regular basis. When I was a kid most of our meals were frozen. If a home cooked meal was made it was usualy something i would cook. although my dad would ALWAYS made burgers and that is still a favorite.
My cooking triumphs
I recently learned how to make cabbage rolls. I had never made them before and they turned out really good. I also recently learned how to make sheppard's pie. I actually got the recipe from allrecipes.com. I was happy with it.
My cooking tragedies
well... When I first moved out of my parent's house I tried all kinds of diffrent cooking styles. i moved in with my now husband. He was very much used to "mom's cooking" it has taken me a while to get to where I am now. I think my husband would have to say that his mother may have some compition. I used to cook everything on "kill" as my husband would say. I would always cook everything on high. It took me a while to figure out that most things tasted better when i would take my time.
