About this Cook
I am a proud Navy wife who loves to bake and cook!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake... mostly because I love to eat the sweets but I think I love cooking a little more. I love elaborate and detailed meals for when we have people over but stick to the more simple things on weeknights because I usually don't know when my husband will be home from work...
My favorite family cooking traditions
I come from a family where we always had fresh baked cookies in the house and that has a lot to do with my love for baking cookies and my ability.
My cooking triumphs
I believe everytime I have people over and everything is cooked well and tastes good is a triumph. And even if it's just my husband tasting it, if I get a rave review I'm always happy. And I am always surprised and proud when my husband says I made something a little better than his mom...
My cooking tragedies
I haven't had any so far... nothing has caught on fire or burned so I'm lucky... better find some wood to knock on...

Spiced Beef Pot Roast
Well talk about a surprise... When I first pulled this out I was thinking it was not going to be so good. It looked dry and I feared it would not have much flavor. I tried it to check and I was very wrong, it was delicious. I made this just for my husband to take to work for lunch for a couple of days but I ended up eating it for dinner myself. It was great. I only used a three pound roast but I wouldn't reccomend the two hour forty five minute cook time even for the four pound roast. I cooked mine just a little over an hour and it turned out great, it probably could have come out even a couple minutes before that... It was good without the gravy, and it was better with it.

Fresh Tomato Salsa
I love this recipe!!! It is wonderful because you know what is going into it and it tastes fabulous! I always make a double batch because it goes so quickly! And I added it up this last time... and it's actually cheaper to make your own than to buy it. LOVE IT!

Marinated Baked Pork Chops
I made this tonight and I followed the recipe exactly. After I stuck it in the oven I really hoped that my husband would like the dish because it was sooo easy that I would like to make it again. He loved it! And he thinks that this recipe should be renamed, Delicious Pork Chops. I love to find new easy recipes and this one is definately a keeper at our house.
