About this Cook
I am an artist who does murals and faux as a business and paint for myself when I am able. My husband and I are the youth ministers at our church and we love "our" kids. We are foster parents and hope someday soon to have our own forever family.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook seafood in etoufees,soups,pastas...My husband and I like it hot and spicy and we love to burn out our friends in a show of cayenne superiority!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making christmas cookies, making special cakes or desserts for church potlucks...
My cooking triumphs
Learning how to actually use more spices than salt, pepper and garlic salt...isn't that still just salt?
My cooking tragedies
Just newly married, I created my mom's chicken and dumplings for my new husband. When it was done after a day of cooking, he came and tasted it and thought it too bland. He reached for the cayenne pepper and the lid fell off pouring the whole bottle into the soup! We've been married 14 years and I still bring it up!

Tim Perry's Soup (Creamy Curry Cauliflower and Broccoli Soup)
Great soup! Added chicken, LOTS of curry powder, saute'd the onions and added a little more water. Mine turned out a little thinner than I wanted, but mostly I just wanted to eat rather than wait for it to thicken! It tasted great! Good recipe...it will go in my rotation of soups for sure.

Classic Peanut Butter Cookies
I had mislaid my mum's recipe, and this one was an exact match. Great flavor and best if pulled out just before done. I use the Crisco butter sticks instead of butter and it seems to be better.

Creamy Beef Casserole
It was alright, but very bland. I had to add more spices like taco seasoning and chipotle powder...Realistically it was more like a hamburger helper but not so processed. I liked the veg in it, but still not my favorite.
