About this Cook
I'm a stay-at-home mom and full time student. I love traditional, comfort-food recipes, but am always looking for fast/easy recipes to make during the week so I can feed my family and get to school on time.
My favorite things to cook
Beef stew, lasagna, "soy sauce chicken", prime rib, cheesy shrimp grits, and anything my mom gives up her AWESOME recipes for. I also love to bake and am locally 'famous' for my chocolate chip banana bread. Secret recipe, sorry!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making tamales with my mom and sisters in early December each year.
My cooking triumphs
My first Thanksgiving turkey was amazing! I love making my mom's delicious northern Mexico recipes. When they come out just right, they take me right back to my childhood.
My cooking tragedies
Baked ziti - why did I decide to try a recipe off a box of generic pasta?? French silk pie - The recipe didn't specify a PRE-BAKED pie crust... it was gross.

Perfect Turkey
I've used this recipe twice with fantastic results. Didn't have room in the fridge so I used a cooler! Also, I mixed in some herbs/seasoning to my butter & rubbed the turkey all over with it, even between the skin & meat. You're turkey comes out juicy & amazing.

Banana Pancakes I
I added vanilla, subbed cinnamon applesauce for the oil & added some brown sugar because I tasted the batter & it needed something more. My husband & I loved them, & I love having another (easy) way to use ripe bananas and wow my hubby!

Banana Crumb Muffins
I added vanilla & used cinnamon applesauce instead of oil, and these were a huge hit!! I was also very generous with the topping. This recipe is super easy, delicious & definitely a keeper!
