About this Cook
Husband of 20 years and father of 2 great girls. Taught myself to cook in college and I just like to experiment with new recipes. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook things that taste good, even if they aren't necessarliy considered good for you. Lots of meat dishes. Beef, chicken and pork, I experiment with them all. Will choose the BBQ over the oven any time. I feel that to really enjoy a meal, you shouldn't worry about the calories or the fat content, just worry about how good everything tastes.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Preparing the turkey on Thanksgiving day.
My cooking triumphs
My greatest triumph is my buffalo wings. Took a year of adding and subtracting to the recipe to make them come out just right.
My cooking tragedies
Clam chowder. Lot's of work and it came out terrible.

Jenn's Out Of This World Spaghetti and Meatballs
Great recipe. The meatballs came out firm and flavorful and the sauce had a really nice taste. The only change I made to the recipe was I cut the sugar amount in half and it was still plenty sweet. My daughters told me that from now on it's no more Ragu sauce for us, they really loved this sauce.

Creamy Chicken and Wild Rice Soup
Homerun! This soup recipe is teriffic. I tried it for the first time about a week ago and it's definitely going in the keeper box. This tastes teriffic and the entire family loved it! I followed the recipe exactly with the exception of replacing the heavy cream with half and half (same amounts) and I added a little more wild rice. Other than that, don't change a thing. If you want to add veggies, boil them in 2 cups of chicken broth and then add them about half way through the cooking time for the soup. When you want to heat up the leftovers, I would add a little milk because this soup gets really thick once you stick it in the fridge. Great recipe!!!

Apple-Filled Cranberry Muffins
Really happy with the way these muffins turned out. I used Granny Smith apples to mix in a little tart with the sweet. Prep time took a little longer than I had planned but the end result was well worth the work. This one's a keeper!
