Pumpkin Fluff Dip

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
Great stuff! I made this for my halloween party and served it in a pumpkin bowl with graham crackers ("coffin planks") and it was a huge hit! I highly recommend adding a tiny bit more spice as it really makes the dish.

Spaghetti Salad I

Reviewed: Nov. 5, 2009
This is a simple and yet delicious recipe. I would use more Italian dressing next time though, since 1 whole bottle didn't coat as much as I would like. I made this dish the night before so the veggies and pasta had time to absorb some of the flavors but I would like more "oomph" next time.

Candy Corn Bark

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
Can I just say this is SO MUCH FUN to make!? The colors are incredible and this would make a beautiful gift wrapped in cellowrap with a holiday ribbon around it. I did omit the raisins because they just sounded so out of place and instead used peanut M&Ms in the holiday colors (purple, black, orange, green). This is a really dessert but thats almost better because otherwise you would eat it all in one sitting. Having it this sweet, is like a really rich fudge where you only need a small bite to please your palatte! :) Thanks so much for this recipe and I will be making several batches of this from now on to give to my friends and family every Halloween!

Baked Pork Chops I

Reviewed: Oct. 12, 2009
This was a great recipe, thought it took a really long time to make. I think I could have left out the breading part and still had roughly the same results. My husband and sis-n-law loved it though! The wine sauce was nicely rich and comforting but i may leave out some of the mushrooms next time, as they were a little potent for me.

Caramel Macchiato Cheesecake

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
I'm not sure what went wrong but my cheesecake didn't turn out so well. Maybe I should have used the waterbath like other users had suggested. I tried baking it the way the recipe was written and my cheesecake turned a golden caramely brown on top (but it didn't taste very appetizing). The inside was good but the fact that the top was almost "burnt" looking and we had to scoop out the edible insides, made it a little strange for my taste. I'm not giving up though and will try a water bath next time.

Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
This was amazing! I added more cheese (like some reviewer had suggested) and used fresh parsley (since I already had some chopped up). I also think the key to this recipe is to flavor the batter more. Somebody recommended to add some garlic, onion, and parsley to the batter in addition to adding it to the melted butter. It really helped to make the biscuits that much more incredible. Thank you SO much for this recipe (and the reviews) as these have always been my favorite biscuits and can now be made at home. :)

Cioppino

Reviewed: Sep. 18, 2009
This is a great foundation recipe for an even greater soup. I used many people's advice on adding clam juice instead of water and used petite diced tomatoes instead of stewed. I also took out the cod (since many complained about it falling apart) and added squid rings and bodies. I had a heck of a time finding clams and mussels, so ended up using shell-less clams and had to make do without the mussels (the presentation was very nice but would have been so much better if there were shells from the clams and mussels). Anyway, this recipe is a good start but feel free to experiment on your own. Add and substitute your own shellfish and ingredients to your liking and make it your very own cioppino this way.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
This was wonderful! The chicken came out so moist and tender, mostly because I marinated it over night. The flavors were very complimentary and gave just the perfect hint of sweetness. I will make this frequently, though it does take a while to prepare. Don't expect this to be a quick last-minute meal as it needs to marinate overnight, and cubing the chicken and then skewering it can take a while. Worth it though! :)

Judy's Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
I thought this was interesting and I'm not really sure what to make of it. I made it for 4 other people, and though it was all eaten, we didn't really commented on how we liked it. The sweet and salty combination is fun but there just wasn't any depth to it. Nothing that made your mouth go "WOW", just barely satisfying as a dessert.

Broccoli with Garlic Butter and Cashews

Reviewed: Aug. 25, 2009
Amazing! This was so good! I took others' advice and made double the sauce to give the broccoli more flavor. I also added the cashews into the sauce while it was still sizzling in the skillet to soften them a little more (I was afraid they would be too crunchy for the broccoli). The sauce is seriously amazing, and I would consider putting this on all types of veggies: green beans, zucchini, carrots, etc.

Strawberry Trifle

Reviewed: Jul. 27, 2009
My goodness! This was one of the best desserts I have ever had, let alone made myself. I have been eyeing this recipe for a while now but read from another reviewer that it doesn't keep well overnight so I have been waiting for a time when I was cooking for a large group. And let me tell you... This is SO refreshing and simple, yet luxurious. I did exactly what the recipe said to do, and I was blown away by the results. I even got a little carried away with the pretty designs of strawberries and bananas, but man it looked as wonderful as it tasted. I will definitely make this again for every other group function I host now! :)

BBQ Pork for Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jul. 14, 2009
This was very tender and juicy! I found it a tad too salty for my taste (even without adding any salt), possibly due to the beef broth, so I may try only using half of the broth then adding in water. Once the pork was done (about 5.5 hours in the slowcooker on high for a 4 lb. pork shoulder butt), I toasted ciabatta rolls, then piled on the pork. Served with baked potato chips and a pickle slice... Yummy!

White Peach Sangria

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This was a fun drink to have on a hot sunny day, though it was really sweet for me. I used Peach Schnapps and regular vodka, as I couldn't find peach vodka and I left out the grapes. Next time I may use club soda or tonic water to calm down some of the sugar as it did make my mouth pucker.

Basil Shrimp

Reviewed: Jul. 7, 2009
This was a wonderful marinade for shrimp. There was nothing that screamed, "5 stars!" but it is still worth adding to the colection and making again. I really liked the fresh basil and lemon which complimented the salty shrimp flavors.

Chicken Enchiladas I

These were good, though I don't really care for enchiladas. My family did request that I use more cheese next time and possibly a little more sauce. Thanks for recipe~

Red Skinned Potato Salad

Reviewed: Jun. 4, 2009
This is good, but I think is too bland for my taste. I added paprika, cayenne pepper, and chili powder which seemed to give it more of a pop, but even then it still wasn't 5 star worthy. I will make again though so I can hopefully, make this a 5 star recipe.

Artichoke Chicken

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
Absolutely the most juiciest and flavorful chicken! I was hoping to add sour cream as other reviewers have suggested, but didn't have any, so I added a squeeze of ranch dressing and a squeeze of dijon mustard to give the sauce more flavor. The artichokes were nicely tangy and covered the chicken wonderfully. I served this with fully loaded baked potatoes and my family and I were pleasantly stuffed afterwards. :)

Strawberry Spinach Salad I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Oh my goodness! I am a salad fanatic and this was the BEST salad I have ever had! I used balsamic vinegar (my favorite) instead of the white vinegar and I just about died when I tried my first bite... AMAZING! The strawberries gave a wonderfully tart flavor to the sweetness of the dressing and the bitterness of the spinach. This is my ultimate favorite salad now! Thanks for introducing it to me! :)

Honey Roasted Red Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
These potatoes turned out very good, however I should have taken the advice of others and doubled the honey mixture -- there just wasn't enough! I poured some last minute honey on top of the potatoes once they came out of the oven and that seemed to help a little but I still wished there was more.

Classic Spanish Sangria

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Absolutely amazing! I did take the advice of others with the Blackberry Merlot, and lightened the intensity with a cup of lemon lime soda... and WOW! MY husband and I will be making this recipe once a week now when we sit out on our patio enjoying the sunny weather. Perfect summer evening drink! Thank you!
