About this Cook
I began cooking when I was a little girl. I can remember standing in the kitchen turning the handle on a strainer basket to help my maternal grandmother make homemade tomato juice and pepper jelly. I learned to make pancakes from my paternal grandmother on a giant electric griddle. My parents were both amazing cooks and even took cooking classes together. Now my husband and I share recipes and cook for one another. Our children ages 11 and (g/b twins nearly 18 months) are adventurous eaters. Our oldest cooks with me and cooks for himself. Even the twins love to play cooking more than anything else.
My favorite things to cook
Anything that makes people happy and relaxed. That could be a roast or a birthday cake. Food is something that brings us together and nurtures our bodies.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Passing down the love of cooking and food to my children. I love Christmas breakfast more than any meal of the year. I look forwaed to my mother's cofdfee cake, cheese grits, my aunt's turkey hash...makes my stomach growl just thinking about it.
My cooking triumphs
The twins first birthday cake. I wanted to make their cake and I wanted something that wasn't too girly or too boy.
My cooking tragedies
Anytime I cook with flour I get it all over the kitchen. There are not enough tips on keeping neat when using flour to keep me or the kitchen clean. It still doesn't stop me from having fresh biscuits and tomatoes in the summer though!

Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches
This was great and easy! My husband and oldest son were really pleased with it. It was great with lettuce and tomato on it. Wonderful recipe!

Chicken and Wild Rice Casserole
Good stuff. Too salty if you add the salt in the start. The wild rice mix has enough salt in it already. It makes enough a bunch and it was nice to have some to share.

Lemon Coconut Squares
I followed the recipe exactly and these were incredible! I took them to a party and everyone who tasted them ate two or three more. Yum! Have to try this recipe if you like coconut.
