Wow, wonderful. I use canned green beans and olive oil instead. I sprinkled it with basil. Husband loved it!

Family loved this. I used leftover cooked and seasoned chicken. Green chilies might have been good in it also. Idid not use mushrooms and did use two noodles I had half a box of. Worked great!

Sure enough, what everyone says is true. I took these to a fellowship at church and was asked several times for the recipe. Men like these a lot!

Hot Chicken Salad II

I think that this is a 4 1/2 the way I made it. I didn't have water chestnuts, so I sauted 1/3 C chopped onions with celery in olive oil, added some garlic and then on the advice added a herb. TRY TARRAGON! It was wonderful!

Canadian Won Tons

Reviewed: Apr. 14, 2009
We have made these twice and both times they have been great. We added a frozen southwest vegetable mix instead of individual items that already had the seasonings and black beans and it was great. This is a great recipe to let the kids do and they think the won tons are so fun to make!

Thirty Minute Meal

Reviewed: Mar. 23, 2009
This was fast and easy. I cooked the ground meat with the onion and added a garlic clove. I didn't have tomato soup so I added a can of tomato sauce and instead of water I added a can of chicken broth. I added a 1/2 tsp. of seasoning salt and then added 1 tsp. of taco seasoning. I served it with cornbread.

My husband and I made this, but on the suggestion of a friend also added brewed coffee to rid the elk of any gamey taste. It worked! There was no foffee taste either!

I have used this on sooo much! It is good on chicken, beef, and venison and elk. I use it in the crockpot a lot and it puts so much more umph in the dish. Thanks!

Twice-Baked Mashed Potatoes

On the sugguestion of other cooks I did add about 1/4 c. of sour cream. Instead of cooking onions in oil, I used the grease from frying the bacon. It tastes great.

Colorful Vegetable Saute

Reviewed: Jan. 2, 2009
This was pretty good as directed. I made a lot and did find out you need to serve immediately for the best flavor. I used the leftovers the next night by sauteing one fresh minced garlic clove, 1/4 cup sliced onion (in olive oil), and then the vegetables. I served it over baked whole wheat tortilla chips, browned ground beef, and then put light sour cream and salsa. It was similiar to a healthy fajita and it was wonderful. The color is beautiful, even my kids said so. I will make this again.

I made this with my daughter and she had a lot of fun. We served this at Thanksgiving and was asked for the recipe! We did not have cinnamon sticks, so we used ground cinnamon. Tasted great.

Cheesy Turkey with Pasta

Reviewed: Dec. 1, 2008
My kids really liked this, but I did change several things. First of all I used elbow macaroni, I sauted onions with the butter instead of using the onion soup mix on the advice of other cooks, I didn't have pasta sauce so I used pizza sauce and added 1/4 tsp. italian seasoning. I used one freshed garlic clove and used only cheddar cheese. Not bad; my son loved it without the pasta!

Original Chex® Party Mix

Reviewed: Nov. 23, 2008
Okay, c'mon! 5*'s the way I made it in my youth! What happened folks? The microwave is faster, but sacrifices the taste! You are right, KID, there was an oven involved! Melt your butter on a cookie sheet (250 degree oven), then add your seasoning (I don't remember the garlic or onion, but I added it). Stir the cereal and nuts to coat, and then every 15 min. for 45 min. to an hour turn the mix to bake evenly. Perfect!!!!

Cabbage Beef Soup

Great soup, I will try other veggies besides beans next time. I think so much more can be done with the soup beside a bean. Perhaps a can of corn, veg-all, or fresh zucchini.

Wow, great cookie. I was hesitant to try with all the butter in the cookie and the ratio of flour. I live at a high altitude and wasn't sure, but it turned out perfect! Thanks!

Slow Cooker Maple Country Style Ribs

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2008
This was a great recipe that tasted like one I fix in the oven with apples or pears and apple juice. I might add some fruit to the slow cooker for the last hour or so (sliced pears or apples) and if I wanted a gravy (not necessary!) I could take the drippings and make a cornstarch gravy. Thanks, my family loved it!

Empanadas

Reviewed: Sep. 16, 2008
These were very good the second time because I did have trouble with the stickiness of the dough the first time I tried this recipe. I went ahead and made them immediately this time without refrigerating. I used homemade apricot preserves and the dough turned out flaky and tasty.
