About this Cook
Cheese makes everything taste better! I cook to relax and unwind. I love to entertain often with something flavorful, new and healthy. Would love to open a bed and breakfast someday, but have never had any resturant experience. Waiting for my big break out of corporate life and into hospitality :)
My favorite things to cook
Pasta casseroles, anything on the grill, veggies galore, foriegn flavors and new exciting tastes...not the same ol' chocolate and vanilla. I love to bake and create desserts, but don't have a sweet tooth to go with all the output.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Mother still asks me to "doctor" up the gravy for large meals at her house.
My cooking triumphs
Cooked for and served 45 people for my rehearsal dinner. Was a lovely down-home menu. No stress, no complaints, very comfy, and absolute delish!
My cooking tragedies
A horrid green bean casserole served to 18 in Thanksgiving 2007. Never use previously frozen french beans in a green bean casserole.

Cinnamon Rolls II
Kinda chewy, but still yummy rolls. The frosting wasn't quite right. I suggest you use more cream cheese and less butter.

Curried Coconut Chicken
Too sweet, no heat. This was simply like nothing I've ever tasted. Not Thai, not Indian. I'd agree with LEHIGH98 when they wrote "If you like authentic Indian or Thai food, stay away from this dish....The coconut milk/curry/TOMATO combo was just not very complementary." Where's the spicy heat? Where's the basil? It was good enough to eat since we were really hungry, but than again survivalists have been known to eaten carrion when starved. The leftovers are still sitting in the fridge being avoided. I won't make this recipe again.

Raspberry White Chocolate Mousse
This mousse stands delicate and slightly sweet on its own, but failed to shine when I served it as a cream puff filling. The flavor of the mousse is so subtle tasting that it was more like a bland whipped topping than a mousse. The mousse is not as sweet as cool whip is alone. I might try double or tripling the amount of raspberry sauce added to the melted chocolate & cream mixture. The mousse served 8. The raspberry sauce is really fantastic - it went a long way, is delicious on Belgium waffles, and kept very well.
