About this Cook
Trained Chef, have been in the Hospitality Industry for 10 years, starting my apprenticeship at the tender age of 18...but now I am at home taking care of our first baby, so have lots of time to cook for fun!!
My favorite things to cook
Desserts both modern and traditional. I am trying to learn sugar craft such as Marzipan work and Royal icing and Fondant such as Sugar Roses etc. Home made pizza, breads...enjoy working with Yeast. Anything really, but I love the Art or Asthetic aspect of cooking.
My cooking triumphs
...winning a Australian Salon Culinare Bronze Medal, going through the tough first four years of my Apprenticeship and doing a live cooking demonstration in front of an Audience at the Western Australian food and Wine Festival.
My cooking tragedies
Live and learn from things you burn LOL! In other words learn from your mistakes, we all make them!

Pepperoni Burgers
Great! The pepperoni added a real nice kick to this burger, nice and simple to make. To mince down my pepperoni I actually used my grater which worked well. Thanks.

Cream Cheese Pound Cake I
This cake turned out very good, nice and moist and full of flavour. I cut it in half and filled it with Apricot flavoured Buttercream then covered it with rolled Fondant I turned blue and applyed edible lustre to add shimmer. I topped it with a teddy I made using Marzipan. The cake held up well for a few days especially since it was coated in Fondant. Thanks.

Chocolate Meringue Pie
This turned out well, except I personally would have preferred the taste of smooth rich chocolate opposed to the taste of the cocoa powder in this recipe. Despite that, this was a good dish. Although I decided to make my own Short pastry and made the pies into miniature individual sizes rather than one large pie. Turned out good. Thanks.
