About this Cook
I am a stay-at-home mom and housewife with two children and a happy hubby. Lexi is 5 1/2 and Clay is almost 3. They are my two best helpers in the kitchen. When it comes to outdoor cooking, like grilling or smoking, I turn that all over to my hubby. Out of everything I do in the kitchen, touching raw meat has got to be my least favorite. My favorite is, of course, anything with chocolate in it!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake! There's something about mixing all those ingredients together and having something so delicious come out of it. But really, time in the kitchen making anything is destressing for me. I think what I like about it best is how happy a nice good meal makes everyone.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mother loved to bake, and I learned much of my early cooking skills from her. Some of my fondest memories are of holiday baking - decorating Christmas cookies, dipping candy - and I now do those same things with my two children.
My cooking triumphs
I make excellent cheesecakes! My mother-in-law always tells me I should open a bakery
My cooking tragedies
I have two small children and lost count of how many cups of flour I had put in the cookies while supervising them. The cookies turned out VERY firm!

Peach Coffee Cake II
Everyone loved this cake! It was very moist and soft. I did make a few changes - I only had one egg! So I used the one egg and added about 1/3-1/2 cup of applesauce for moisture. It turned out great, and it was healthier that way too. Next time I think I will add a little almond flavoring to the batter too.

Quick and Easy Alfredo Sauce
The name of this recipe should be Quick, Easy and Fantastic Alfredo Sauce. My husband even claims it tastes better the second day. I have not used any other recipes for alfredo sauce since finding this one.

Chocolate Caramel Candy
This is everyone's favorite! I have been asked for this recipe many, many times. Everytime the holidays come around, people start asking, are you going to make that candy with the caramel and nougat in it? Truly better than a Snickers bar. And a tip: coat the inside of your 9x13 pan with a thin layer of non-stick cooking spray, then freeze the bottom layer before adding the other layers. That will help it not to stick.
