Sizzling Southwest Burgers

Reviewed: May 27, 2009
Very good! Added Worcestershire, garlic, salt and pepper to mix. Used Red Bell Peppers since we don't care for green. Also skipped the salsa since we don't like much heat. Made the two-year-old's with American cheese---he didn't care for them. Hubby and I enjoyed them very much though. We served them with nacho chips and canned cheese sauce. Yummy!

Pizza On The Grill I

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
We had ours with leftover homemade tomato sauce, mozzerella cheese and pepperoni. Really good. Had a different taste than pizza I'm used to. One tip: Keep the pizzas small or else they will fall apart!

Delicious Baked Chicken

Reviewed: Apr. 25, 2009
Surprisingly good. The chicken was very moist and had a lot of flavor. A nice way to flavor up baked chicken without a lot of fat and calories. Served with homemade mac & cheese and green peas.

Sweet and Sour Meatballs (Suan T'ien Niu Jou Po Lo La Tzu)

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
This is really authentic. We had it over garlic fried rice with veggie egg rolls. I didn't really care for the meatballs, but I'm not really a fan, even in Italian food. I did enjoy the veggies and I liked the taste of the sauce. Hubby, who loves this sort of food, really enjoyed it.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
Used blueberry honey. Very good marinade. Made kabobs with zucchini, red bell peppers, and onion. Chicken was tender and my dinner guests enjoyed them.

Honey Glazed Carrots

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
This took forever to cook. Had to adjust oven temperature to 400 degrees. After over an hour we finally had to pull it out and go ahead and eat. The sauce was good, but the carrots were still crunchy. Would make again though, only next time will boil carrots for a few minutes first.

Cube Steak Parmesan

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
Used the recipe for the steak coating, but used our own homemade sauce. Really yummy, and a pleasant change from the usual chicken parm.

Over the Fire Scalloped Potatoes

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
I would have given four stars but only two of the five packets we made turned out. I was lucky enough to get one and thought the taste was really good--would have been even better with the optional sauteed mushrooms. The rest of the packets burned so bad that it was embarrassing.

Oreo™ Cookie Cake II

Very chocolaty and sweet! Used Duncan Hines Chocolate Butter Cake mix, and followed recipe exactly, except I used Double Stuff Oreos and extra chocolate chips. Everyone loved it.

Amazing Pork Chops in Cream Sauce

Reviewed: Apr. 22, 2009
This was both super-easy AND delicious!! The sauce had a rich, mushroom-y taste, and all the alcohol burned off, so it tasted more like cream of mushroom than wine sauce. The family really enjoyed this! Will double sauce next time.

Easy Bunny Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Lots of fun to make. Used chocolate cake and coconut on the ears and bow tie only. Used black decorator frosting and Jolly Rancher jellybeans as decoration. Recommend using two cans of frosting---we only used one and felt the cake would have looked nicer with two coats of frosting.

Chicken Jerusalem I

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Served over Rotini pasta with salad and rolls. We really enjoyed this, even the two-year-old. (NOTE: the alcohol in the wine cooks out, making it safe for children). Thought the wine taste was a little overpowering; we used a cheap white wine, but think it would have been better with a really good white wine. Overall, it was fantastic!

Pretzel Coated Fried Fish

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
Made this for Good Friday dinner with mushy green peas and homemade "chips". Used Talipia instead of Cod, but followed the batter recipe exactly. Used the blender to crush the pretzels. The whole family loved it!!! I am not a fish fan, and I ate two pieces! Great with ketchup. Heated up good the next day too!

Awesome Egg Salad with a Kick

Reviewed: Apr. 13, 2009
I usually HATE egg salad and I thought this was DELICIOUS!! Since it was just the family, we halved the recipe, and had it on toasted French bread with Swiss cheese. I did think the horseradish was a little strong, so we may add less next time. Thanks so much for sharing!

Southern Style Banana Split Cake

Reviewed: Apr. 9, 2009
This was good on the first day, and much better the next day. Hubby and his friend liked it with chocolate syrup, but I thought that made the cake too sweet. My biggest complaint was that this cake, although good, was not worth the cost we paid for all the ingredients.

Restaurant-Quality Baked Potato Soup

Reviewed: Apr. 8, 2009
Excellent! This soup was defiantly restaurant quality; it tastes just like the potato soup from several chain restaurants around here. My only reason for giving this only four stars is because my husband (not a soup fan) wasn't too impressed. I, however, thought it was fantastic! Will make again when hubby is away for dinner.
