Microwaved Potatoes Lyonnaise
This was delicious. Recently my "real" oven died, so I have been trying to learn how to cook in the microwave. Although my measurements and timing are casual and approximate, and I should note I covered the dish with plastic wrap and allowed several minutes standing time, and used real butter, the end result was delectable. The onion/garlic flavor is very subtle and throughout the potatoes. This is a great side dish with beef, and does not require additional fat.

Turkey Breast with Gravy
This was very good and I will make it again, but I altered it a little. I used lime pepper (all I had);preheated the oven to 425, then reduced to 325 once the bird was in; basted with melted butter; and made the usual pan gravy with some of the drippings, flour, and diluted chicken broth (Better Homes style). The turkey was a lovely brown and very moist and tasty.

Wine Jelly
I used a cheap pinot grigio. I actually loved the jelly - it's just slightly zingily sweet(not "wine-y" at all) and great with cream cheese on crackers. It's pretty in the jar too. And really a cinch to make up. I would give it a 5 but it didn't seem to impress the folks I gave it to last Christmas. Not wanting to seem too easily impressed by the fruit of my labor, I decided on a 4.
