About this Cook
i'm a mother of four, two teens and a set of twin toddlers, YIKES! born and raised in idaho , with a few years in wyoming after getting married, sooooo glad to be back home!
My favorite things to cook
anything edible. desserts are my specialty, while my husband makes the main courses. oldest daughter practicing to become a chef, in hopes of going to culinary arts school in the next year.
My favorite family cooking traditions
homemade christmas gifts. every year my teens and i decide what to make, it's different every year, cookie platters, candy boxes, "cookies in a jar" and other mixes, and non food items like homemade body powder, facial scrubs, milk bath, etc. we have fun planning preparing and delivering "homemade" gifts to family and friends.
My cooking triumphs
teaching my teens to cook so if i hear "what's for dinner?" i can reply "whatever you make for us!"
My cooking tragedies
any time i try to out-do my husband in the kitchen only to have him make something better.

Seven Spiced Shark Steaks
I chose this recipe for my first time having shark, and I was not disappointed.I did cut down to 1 tablespoon chili powder and black pepper as I don't care for too much hot spices. I will definatly make the rub to try with other meats.

Red, White, and Blue-Misu
This is a very refreshing twist to a classic tiramisu. I could only give it four stars because it does lack a little in flavor without the coffee liquer. I will definatly make this again.

Asparagus with Sesame Butter
I love fresh spring asparagus steamed with a little salt and pepper, so I was hesitant with this heavy butter sauce. It lacked a little in flavor. Next time I will try a little lemon juice in it to give a citric kick of flavor.
