My cooking philosophies are:
Everything needs a pinch of salt and don't follow recipes to the T; work with what you have on hand and you must be able to know when something isn't working out well and needs to be tweaked.
My favorite things to cook
Ironically, I like to make desserts but don't like to eat them very often; they make me sick and I rarely crave them. I just have fun making and decorating them then giving it to family and friends and they love it.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I love that I was born into a family that likes to cook every day and not eat out and eat junk fast food all the time. We ate lots of fresh fruit, veggies, steak, chicken, pork chops, stew, chili, homemade burgers and homemade Mexican food growing up as well as eating every kind of breakfast food you can think of in the mornings.
My cooking triumphs
Recently, I began making doughs for bread, pie crusts, pasta, etc. and am always amazed how well they turn out. It's like a science experiment and makes me feel like a little kid.
My cooking tragedies
I've burned a few things before and I'm not great with cooking fresh fruit; that's something I need to work on and practice.
