About this Cook
We moved from Clyde,Ohio in Oct. 2007. I studied and recieved my Real Estate license in KY,Oct 2008. I still currently hold my Ohio Real Estate license also. I love my AR friends but I spose I need to get back to work! Apparently I gain pounds by LOOKING at the recipes! Although homemade bread is my downfall...love to make it and call it dinner! And lots of butter! My Maiden name is CAPPS, now how wierd is that?
My favorite things to cook
There are just the 2 of us but I do cook dinner almost every night. I love easy dishes on the nights I really don't feel like cooking. Grandmommy Capps lived in Rocky Mount, NC....Sundays were a holiday! Dinner was at 2pm. Leftovers were snacks later(dark thirty)....she was a great biscuit and piemaker. Being the oldest of 23 grandchildren, I was the BEST dishwasher! Hand wash everything in a washpan! I know....you've never heard of it??? You need one to play as your wash sink, and then you rinse in the kitchen sink.....It was fun.....no air dry either....someone had to dry ALL the dishes! I love my Sis for that!
My favorite family cooking traditions
We have ham, blackeyed peas, collard greens, and corn muffins on New Year's Day for good luck! Peanut blossums are my favorite cookie for Christmas!
My cooking triumphs
"Banana Crumb Muffins" were delicious & gorgeous, looked store-bought!
My cooking tragedies
I have left the neck(in the bag) in the turkey in the past 5 years! I should know better! Always rememember to check BOTH ends of the turkey before you cook it! I'm Blonde...Sheesh!!

Ham 'n' Swiss Rolls
I made this into a Ham/Swiss braid and it sure came out pretty! This is such a quick EASY recipe and would really be great for fancy lunches if you do the braid! Very tasty!

Grill Dough
RAINY DAY tips! Made the dough in the breadmaker, followed the recipe to a "T" otherwise.I let it rise/rest for 15 minutes before I prebaked the crust for about 8 minutes @400. Then added all the toppings and baked for 20 minutes. Easy and really good!
