About this Cook
I work the weekends, watch my three kids during the week while I attempt to study for Microbiology and A&P. Fun stuff... I'm a med-surge nurse and enjoy my job, its very rewarding.
My favorite things to cook
I actually love cook all the things that cardiologists warn you about, BBQ, homeade pizza, southern cooking. Basically, heart attacks on a plate.
My cooking triumphs
I feel like I have perfected slow cooker BBQ. Perfect pizza dough is one of my sucesses. I love to make hot, toasted sandwiches too (I ain't talkin grilled cheese mind you! I make a ruben to die for!). I also feel that I have perfected a variety of homeade gravies and sauces.
My cooking tragedies
I have too many cooking tragedies to list here. My biggest blunders always seem to be asian dishes. I always screw them up somehow, which is sad, cause I love asian food!!

Bourbon Chicken
After reading all the reviews, I have to agree with many other people that 1)it needs more brown sugar, 2)to much bourbon taste, 3)should pan fry. Oven really dried it out. Sort of disappointed cause I really had my heart set on some good "mall-type" bourbon chicken. It was really dry. I deviated from the main recipe in that I sliced the chicken into strips, but the rest I followed to the T. Without a side of rice, I could not have eaten the chicken plain for the overpowering smell/taste of bourbon. I will tweak and try again sometime.
