About this Cook
I have always enjoyed cooking, but really got into it about a year ago when I became a stay at home mom. I'm always up for trying new recipes and I am thrilled when I find something that my picky 3 year will eat! At least once a week, I sit down with a Cosmopolitan (or two), peruse the Allrecipes site and print out recipes I want to try soon. Love, love, love this website!
My favorite things to cook
My husband loves the Peanut Butter Temptation II cookies. My 10 year old and I have fun making them together and it's nice to have a special treat for Dad.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom is a great cook and always had great meals for us. She inspires me to try new things and to enjoy my time in the kitchen. My mom's kitchen is still the gathering place of her home and just thinking of it brings back great memories.
My cooking triumphs
When I finally was able to make great home made bread!
My cooking tragedies
Banana bread with way, way too much sugar. Somehow ended up putting in 3 cups instead of 3/4 cups. Oops!!! It looked funny from the get go and didn't really bake very well (go figure). One bite and it was tossed in the trash.

Sauteed Garlic Asparagus
I have made this recipe several times and will continue to do so. I make just a few changes. I use olive oil instead of butter and I cut each asparagus spear into 3. This made it more kid friendly and be easier for my kids to eat - for whatever reason they eat more when I cut it up then when I serve whole spears. Watch the cooking time if you cut the spears up - they cook and bit faster. Overall this is an easy and nice tasting recipe.

Famous Pork Chops
I just found my new "go to" pork chop recipe. These were so good - my whole family loved them! I follwed the recipe exactly, except I used only 1/4 cup of butter. The chops were melt in your mouth yummy. Thanks for the recipe!

Grilled Salmon I
Incredible! Living in the Pacific NW we tend to eat a lot of seafood...I love it when I find a new recipe that tastes great and is easy. Our neighbor gave us some fresh salmon that he had caught a couple hours befpre and I decided to BBQ it and try this recipe. Instead of garlic powder I used fresh garlic, but other than that I followed the recipe exactly. My 10 year old, who insists she hates salmon, even tried it and wanted more instead of the hot dog that I had made her...wow! The only change I will make in the future is to marinate the fish for at least 3 - 4 hours. Thanks for the great recipe!
