About this Cook
I'm a stay at home mom of one. I have a wonderful husband, great friends, and a kitchen that is just big enough for me and my skills.
My favorite things to cook
I love dishes with four or five ingredients that I can throw together quickly and safely while my toddler is making mischief in my low-level cupboards. Pasta dishes with jarred sauces, casseroles, stir-fry veggies with chicken or beef, and one-skillet meals work best for me.
My favorite family cooking traditions
My mom made something called Chicken Broccoli Casserole that everyone in my family of six liked. We also loved her spaghetti, which she seasoned herself. I remember my parents making big breakfasts on weekends when we would all do something afterward to help the delicious meal settle.
My cooking triumphs
Every time I make something new and my toddler actually likes it, it's a triumph. But to be more specific, the first time I made a full Thanksgiving dinner, turkey and all, everyone loved it.
My cooking tragedies
Oh, let me count them....NOT.

Challah I
Whenever I make this, it doesn't last long. I tend to make a twist instead of a braid and increase the honey a bit.

Minestrone Macaroni
I didn't have the bouillon, so I added one packet of onion soup mix instead. My toddler loved this and she's pretty picky. This recipe makes a lot and really is even better the next day. Loved it!
