About this Cook
I have been baking since I was 15. I am now a chef for a non-profit company. Very rewarding work.
My favorite things to cook
I prefer to bake. Love all types of cakes, breads, muffins.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Making Christmas cookies...one of the cookies we make is a recipe of soft sugar cookies with frosting that my family and friends just love at Christmas time!
My cooking triumphs
I baked a beautiful multi-tiered wedding cake using a bi-level cake stand. Very popular in the 90's!
My cooking tragedies
The first scratch cake I made when I was 15 years old, fell apart! I tried to frost it when it was still warm....I have learned alot since then! :)

Whoopie Pies I
These were delicious...BUT The picture is much darker than the actual product. Next time I will use my deep dark chocolate cake recipe. Also PLEASE don't use shortening for your filling! It tastes like plastic...NOTHING tastes like butter! and it works just as well! I use these in my cafeteria and everyone loves them!

Creamy Rice Pudding
I am a professional cook so I used this recipe in my kitchen at work. It was very good, but does not double well. I had to use some corn starch to thicken it up a bit. Also I wanted to use leftover rice and it was long grain which doesn't do well in rice pudding so I put the rice in a food processor and processed it a bit which broke it up some and it was fine. All in all a pretty good pudding.

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
This was a good recipe. They were a little thin, but I like thin pancakes. Try using self rising flour for ones that rise better. Also, add a little vanilla for extra flavor.
