Classic Spanish Sangria
I've gotten so many compliments on this when I make it (usually for large groups) even from those who don't like "sweet" alcoholic drinks. I tried cutting the sugar in half, like other reviewers have said, but was told it wasn't sweet enough. I also add chopped apples (I chop the oranges, but leave the lemons and limes in slices so people don't bite into them thinking they are oranges!). I've used spiced and regular rum as well as blackberry and regular Merlot (at different times) and all are wonderful! For those who don't want such a "strong" taste, we add Sprite or 7-Up to the glasses afterward.
