I love to cook for my family and friends - there is nothing more fun that filling special requests! I work around food, come home and cook, and spend time planning meals all the time. I love to cook and my hubby and son love to eat!
My favorite things to cook
Cookies, anything that I serve with tea, and cheese straws. And as a Southern cook, I love to bake a mean biscuit and top it with my own muscadine preserves.
My favorite family cooking traditions
The Thanksgiving bird and gravy, Christmas morning breakfast, birthday cakes, hot chocolate and cookies every winter evening, and my mama's gingerbread cookies.
My cooking triumphs
Being asked to bring my Chocolate Cake to every church get-together.
My cooking tragedies
A birthday cake that fell apart the day of the party... Not fun to replace last minute...

Blueberry Sour Cream Coffee Cake
Made this last night for my hubby and coworkers and they ALL had a fit! The coworkers cleaned off the plate in minutes. I followed the recipe just as it is and it was AMAZING. SO dang moist and just a tiny bit crisp in all the right places!

Grammie's No-Crust Apple Pie
I thought this recipe was GREAT. I had a bunch of apples and company over spur of the moment... Got on here and found this recipe really quickly, threw it together in just a couple minutes, and tossed it in the oven while I was fixing dinner. Was ready just as we were finishing dinner... Took the suggestion of exchanging the sugar for 3/4 cup brown sugar just because I like brown sugar better as a rule. Tasted awesome and the topping was REALLY yummy. Offset the filling PERFECTLY. Great recipe and I will DEFINITELY make it again. The menfolk gobbled it up after a long day's work with some homemade vanilla ice cream.

Clone of a Cinnabon
Perfect recipe as is - I've made them 4 times in 3 weeks and I can't keep them. Today I sent them with my son to school for his last day of kindergarten - he said that some of the kids liked them. I said, "Some?" He said not everyone got one. I asked why and he told me that the teachers liked them best of all the party food and only let the children who behaved best have one and then they split the rest. Yes, I believe that says it all.
