Perfect Cheesecake Everytime

I'd never made a cheesecake before in my life but finally got nerve enough to try one. I reviewed many but settled on this one because it seemed simple and straightforward. While it was relatively simple, the flavor was anything but. This cheesecake was fantastic and certainly a crowd-pleaser. I'll be making this again and again.

Molasses Sugar Cookies II

This was a huge hit over the holidays. I had several different people with several different tastes raving over these cookies. I was worried at first because the dough was a bit dry but I guess that's what it's supposed to be like. They turned out great and I'd love to make them again. I suppose I should...

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

I made these with high hopes, since the Downeast Maine Pumpkin Bread is one of my favorite AR recipes. At first I was a bit disappointed because I thought they could have been better. However, after a day or two they got even more flavor and went from four stars to five. I'd recommend making it a day or two ahead of time so the flavors can sink in.

Cranberry Orange Loaf

This was fantastic. I have to admit, I was a bit apprehensive about using cranberries like this but I needn't have worried. This is a great quick bread. I didn't do the icing others suggested as I ran out of time and orange juice but I am making this bread again real soon and I may try to make it. However, I really don't think it needs it. I mean, it's pretty darn good as is; how much better can it get?

Iced Pumpkin Cookies

I'd give this six stars if I could. These were absolutely fantastic. They didn't look like they were done cooking at 15 minutes but I took them out anyway and turns out they were done. I only made half the glaze because it looked like it would make a ton but again I was wrong. I should have made the full amount of icing and made sure that each cookie had an ample amount of icing on them. Next time I may try and dip each cookie in the glaze.

Playgroup Granola Bars

Awesome. Got thrown into the rotation immediately. I've made this three times already in about four days - some of that was for a party we hosted, and all the bars went quickly. I would recommend cooking the bars for the entire 30 minutes. The second batch I only did 25 minutes and they were still very chewy. My wife said it was like an oatmeal cookie but I thought 'Well, it's not supposed to be a cookie' so the next time I baked it for 30 minutes and it was chewy like a chewy bar, not like a chewy cookie.

Sandy's Chocolate Cake

Five stars for this cake recipe. I'd never made a cake before but figured I'd try one for my girls' birthday party. This one was well recommended and looked simple enough. I followed the recipe exactly, made no changes. I was a bit hesitant to add the water since the batter looked good before the water but I did it anyway. It didn't make the batter runny like I thought and it's actually a necessary part of the recipe I believe. I was in a crunch for time so I didn't get to make this frosting which disappointed me. I really wanted to try it. Guess next time I'll have to, because there will definitely be a next time.

Apple Strudel Muffins

I took the advice of others and grated an apple and chopped another, as well as adding 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1/2 tsp of nutmeg. These muffins were fantastic! The flavor was just right, not too sweet, not overpowering in the least. We had them about 5-10 minutes after they'd finished baking and they were divine. Definitely a keeper.

Annie's Fruit Salsa and Cinnamon Chips

I was expecting a lot more from this. Took it to a get together and brought half home with me. It'd be a three-star rating but the flour tortilla chips were tasty. Will make chips again, won't bother with the fruit salsa.

Yummy Honey Chicken Kabobs

This marinade is very easy to make. It works for me as a marinade for just cooking up chicken to serve over rice. Definitely agree with everyone else to leave it marinading for hours.

We liked these because they weren't too sweet and though there's nothing wrong with sweet muffins it just hit the spot when we had them. The good thing too is you can add as much or as little of the cinammon-sugar mix at the end.

Anniversary Chicken I

I had some ranch dressing I needed to get rid of and some chicken breasts ready to be cooked so I decided to try this out. Man, am I glad I did! Was perfect combination of two flavors that really don't seem like they'd go together - ranch and teriyaki marinade. I took the suggestions of others and added bacon and cheese while chicken was already baking. This dish will be a staple in our house.

Banana Crumb Muffins

So great! Made a batch of six extra-large muffins from this recipe and my family devoured all of them. Followed recipe but did add a shot of vanilla extract as others suggested. Was sweet but not overpowering sweet. Will make this again and again and again and again... not sure if we could get tired of this.

Asian Orange Chicken

I've made this dish time and again and it always impresses. The orange flavor is absolutely wonderful and the sauce is perfect. Followed other suggestions about NOT putting the chicken in with the sauce at the end. I serve it over plain white rice and there are rarely ever any leftovers.

Spicy Garlic Lime Chicken

This went over well here. It was very flavorful as the garlic and lime did well to coat the chicken. I used chili pepper instead of cayenne pepper as my wife doesn't like too much heat. Oh yeah, I took someone else's advice and pounded the breasts a little. I think that helped a lot.

Creamy Italian Dressing II

Needed some dressing in a pinch and this fit the bill perfectly. I used a bit more of everything: red wine vinegar, garlic, oregano. Also used olive oil and lime juice (out of necessity). This work out spectacularly. Definitely a keeper.

To Die For Blueberry Muffins

The name's no joke. Turned out excellent. Made six full-size muffins. The topping made waaaay too much so I'd recommend cutting it by half or a third. It took almost exactly 23 minutes for the batch too bake thoroughly.
