I'm originally from Nicaragua. I come from a large family of sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, but mostly cousins. Growing up, my taste for food was undeveloped. It was hard for my mother to get me to eat, but as I got older in my mid 20's I started developing a passion for cooking. I love cooking and trying different recipes from different countries.
My favorite things to cook
I cook everything, but my favorite is seafood, lamb, and soups. My favorite one of all is my bacon wrapped scallops. The sauce I make it's a combination of different recipes and it's awesome!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My sisters live in different parts of the USA so the tradition is that when we all get together each sister cooks a complete meal for everybody (14 people including spouses and children) one night, but the fun part is that we don't know what kind of food it is until is on the table.
My cooking triumphs
Cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 21 friends and family members in 2007. And I did it all by myself! My husband helped (a little)
My cooking tragedies
The only times I have been faced with a tragedy was when trying to make meatloaf. I know is something anyone could make, but for me never comes out to my liking. We don't eat meatloaf in my house :)
