Best Ever Chocolate Cutout Cookies

Reviewed: Jul. 24, 2011
The dough was far too dry! I tried to add a bit more butter after it was all mixed together - that was hard. I only used 1 cup of sugar and it was sweet enough. I just wanted a chocolate sugar cookie recipe to make "Tiny Teddies" and essentially that's what I got. Tastes good and that is what matters most. Next time I will add vanilla & a 2nd egg

Apple Oatmeal Crisp

Reviewed: Aug. 1, 2010
I love this. I used only 1/4 cup of white sugar and 3/4 cups of brown sugar and found I could reduce the sugar even more and I'm not 1 to alter recipes! The person who said it was too dry - I recommend you to try it again. I'm going to do this again! Oh and it was perfect with vanilla yogurt!

Easy Ice Cream Sandwiches

Reviewed: Jun. 1, 2010
This is a great and easy recipe to make! I made it for my birthday "cake" and my 2 year old, who only got 1/2 wanted more! Heck when I tasted the batter that was enough for me to love it!

Smooth Sailing Sugar Cookies

Reviewed: Apr. 11, 2010
Instead of cutting out shapes, my 2 year old & I made balls, put them in 100's & thousands (sprinkles) and flattened them on the pan. The first batch the cookies were too thick, but they were still perfect - they just took longer to brown. I did the 2nd batch and flattened them a bit more. Made about 45 cookies!

Quick Pea Soup

Reviewed: Mar. 4, 2010
I'll give this 4 stars as I liked the easiness of this, but I used it as a base. Keeping all the measurements the same, but I added to the pot. 1/2 onion sauteed in butter, 1 carrot (let it sweat in the pot with the lid on for about 10 mins) then I added some sliced ham. I added the pureed peas, milk, salt & pepper and let it reduce for about 10 or so minutes. I didn't actually eat it, I don't like peas, I made it for my 2 year old and he gobbled it up. However, my husband did have a taste and said it needed more salt & pepper. I think it's a great starting off point!

Mom's Buttermilk Biscuits

These Biscuits are so so so easy to make! I've made them two times now. They are so soft! The only thing I do is brush the tops with milk. And grease your pan..

Strawberry Oat Muffins

Reviewed: Sep. 21, 2009
I don't make muffins very well, I usually overmix the batter. 3 things happened with this recipe - I intended on doing it by the recipe. 1 I oversoaked the oats, I think it just made them softer and they rather disintagrated when I mixed them in. 2) didn't have buttermilk so I did the vinegar in milk - does that change the flavor? 3) I didn't have brown sugar so instead I used the same amount of white sugar as called for. It turned out to be a lovely muffin and I could have eaten the whole batch by myself. It's sweet enough but not overly sweet.. I'm sending this recipe to my friends via facebook..

Potato Salad with Cream

Reviewed: Nov. 26, 2007
First off I made the serving size to 4 which made the ingredients list all weird, but followed it as best I could. I didn't have any parsley - which didn't matter. But what I did do, was put all the seasoning into the cream before I boiled the vinegar (which didn't boil) but got really hot. I thought I had messed it up because the eggs kind of cooked scrambled, but I whisked in the cream real quick. It was so so good, I hate hard boiled eggs - This was a great Potato Salad I'll be making this again
