I'm college age, taking a year off of school to move to Seattle to begin my industrious career as a hippie. My new house has a tiny kitchen as a gas oven and I don't know how I'm going to survive. There isn't even enough room for my coffee maker!
Right now, though, my biggest challenge is being able to afford all the ingredients for all the recipes I want to make!
My favorite things to cook
I love to bake. I love to try new recipes. I adore making food that my friends and family ask for again and again.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Both my parents are amazing cooks, and my mom always made a point of explaining to me what she was doing while she made dinner. I guess my favorite would be my dad's chili, though, because it's delicious and unique.
My cooking triumphs
The fact that all my friends and family request baked goods from me constantly is my greatest triumph, I think.
My cooking tragedies
My mom has a wonderful recipe for a banana chocolate chip cake, and when I was in middle school I attempted it... and accidentally added twice the butter it called for. It was a bit greasy, to say the least.
