About this Cook
While my husband is the chef of the house, I'm the baker and cake decorator. I start school in August at Antonelli College in Cincinnati for Interior Design. While baking is a passion of mine, I just love being able to be creative and put my ideas and creations out there.
My favorite things to cook
Baked goods. They're in high demand from everyone I work with at my full-time job. My most popular item is my cookie-brownie, and since I make "real roses" and not the Wal-Mart "rose" my friends and family are used to, I've been taking more orders and special requests than ever!
My favorite family cooking traditions
Every year at Christmas with my dad's side of the family there is usually an 8ft table decked out with seafood, with just about everything you can think of: lobster, crab, scallops, a massive amount of shrimp, oysters, clams, I could go on! Then there's a table with dessert, another table with veggies and fruits, and then a card table that has ham and turkey and the like for those who don't like seafood.
My cooking tragedies
I tried baking brownies and added chocolate chunks, making the necessary adjustments as I went. I poured it into a greased pan as directed, but when they came out they were stuck to a greased, non-stick pan! I still haven't been able to live this one down...

Too Much Chocolate Cake
I used this recipe to make a layered cake instead of a bundt cake, which gave me 3 9" layers. I just finished Course 1 of Wilton Cake Decorating classes and I made this cake specifically for that. After I had decorated it and my picture was taken with it, my instructor and classmates were all dying for the recipe after having a small slice. I don't know if I would make this on a regular basis for my future classes, but if you're craving chocolate, this is the cake to make!

Good Old Fashioned Pancakes
The guys are always asking me to make something on game nights, but one recently asked me to make pancakes. Having made this recipe once before and knowing how good it was, I made it for them and they loved it! Now they have trouble figuring out if they want my homemade pizza or pancakes when they come over!

E-Z Drop Biscuits
The first time I made these, I followed the recipe exactly, and they were honestly not that good. I tried again, though, but this time I substituted the 1/2 Tsp. cream of tartar for 1 Tsp. of garlic powder, and then dropped them as 7 large biscuits onto my baking sheet and added shredded cheddar cheese on top before putting them in the oven. I highly recommend the substitution!
