I am married with no 2 legged kids. I have 4 dogs and do dog training in my spare time. We recently built a new home and since that time, all major holiday dinners take place at our house. We enjoy entertaining friends and family in our home and as a result I have learned how to cook various dishes both easy and more complicated and mostly through trial and error.
My favorite things to cook
Cheesecake, chicken marsalla, and BBQ ribs.
My favorite family cooking traditions
Homemade cranberries (check out the Williams Sonoma recipes online - we have adopted this recipe) and parker house rolls for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
My cooking triumphs
First time I made a prime rib - I was quite afraid to make this for fear of messing it up. But it turned out just fine.
My cooking tragedies
Grandma's lemon merinque pie. I cannot duplicate her recipe as she never had one written down, I just have the ingredients on a piece of paper, but no measurements or instructions. Pie flavor turned out ok, but merinque separated from the crust and looked horrible. Needless to say, I am afraid of meringue now. =)
