About this Cook
I use to hold the title "casserole queen" but decided to broaden my horizons and learn to cook ellaborate recipes. so far so good. this year my christmas eve dinner will be my first grand party. i plan on writing my recipes and even post pics. i cook for my mother, my four children and myself every night. my children are ages 10,9,7 and 4yrs. old.
My favorite things to cook
i make a mean and sinful chuck roast (i can do amazing things with cheap meat!), i love cooking with bison, chicken and rice.
My favorite family cooking traditions
i make dutch donuts called ollibollen every december 5th, duck for Mabon (witch's thanksgiving), this year we're making standing rib roast for Christmas eve dinner and mexican wedding cookies that we enjoy every Christmas holiday.
My cooking triumphs
my bison meatloaf, pork egg rolls, handmade pasta (love my pasta maker), roast and potatoes and apparently according to my children i make an awesome scrambeled eggs.
My cooking tragedies
there are too many to count. before i never cracked open a cook book or looked up a recipe. NOW i know better. stick to the recipe, only ad lib if you KNOW what you are doing!

Bangers and Mash
awesome recipe, it's back to basics here! It's the ultimate English comfort food and my children and I love comfort food. I like cooking COMFORT FOOD recipes from every culture and the bangers and mash is a perfect iconic plate that satisfies english middle class families. the potatoes get the flavor of the gravy and the sausages when fried in the pan get "firm" but get nice and soft when baked under all those dreamy potaotes. This is something we make almost every week!
