Chicken Pot Pie IX

This was delicious!!! I have made it twice now and am addicted. I made it the other day while my daughter was napping and stuck it in the fridge until dinner. Pulled it out 1 hour before & popped it in the oven. One of my dinner guests said "This is the best pot pie I have ever had!" He then continued to eat 3 HUGE slices! Needless to say we didn't have leftovers. Next time I will make two!

Savory Crescent Chicken

This was ok but my husband didn't really care for the flavors. It was a little rich for us. I think I would definitely use less cream cheese or serve it sliced for appetizers instead of the main course.

Garlic Prime Rib

We love garlic but this was just too much for us. The garlic seems to be a little bitter after roasting. We cooked to 140 and it was still raw. Next time I will cook to recommended temp.

Cajun Chicken Pasta

We really liked this. I did have to make a few adjustments though. I don't like mushrooms and maybe reviewers said they added no flavor so I omitted them. I also thought the sauce was runny (I used the right cream) so I added a bit of flour. Also we threw in some snap peas that we had on hand. Gave it some nice color and additional flavor. Will definitely make this again. My 14 month old daughter even loved it.

Mediterranean Quinoa

I read suggestions an altered a little. I sauteed the veggies in olive oil, used 1 cup quinoa and 2 cups water - perfect!! I also threw some cheddar cheese and turkey ham in. My 9-month old daughter LOVED it and kept wanting more.

Quinoa Pilaf

This was really good, even my 9-month old daughter LOVED it. She just kept opening her mouth for more, which these days is pretty uncommon. I didn't add lemon or salt & pepper because I don't give my daughter salt and my husband is not a fan of lemon. What I did add though was some grated cheddar cheese, bell pepper and turkey ham - yum! Definitely will make again!

World's Best Scones! From Scotland to the Savoy to the U.S.

Delicious! I made this just as the recipe stated. Except I didn't have currants so I used frozen mixed berries! Let me tell you YUMMY! I took them to a coffee with my girlfriends and there wasn't a scone left. Even my British friends raved about them!

Camp Cornbread

I love this cornbread. I use the Jiffy boxed cornbread mix and it turns out delicious everytime. I usually double the recipe and put it in an 8x8 pan for thicker bread!

Steak Chili

I used two cans of beans but otherwise I followed the recipe. This recipe freezes GREAT! I froze half of it and the flavors really came out after I defrosed it. Excellent! Today I am going to double the recipe and am using dried beans which I soaked in salt water overnight.

World's Best Lasagna

Super yummy. I made it in two 8x8 foil pans and froze one. Both were GREAT. My husband ate it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I couldn't get him to eat anything else until it was all gone. I also put in some tofu in the ricotta mixture. Makes it extra creamy and gives it good nutrients!

World's Best Pasta Sauce!

I agreed that it was a little to meaty for my tastes. But my husband liked the meatiness. I thought that sauce was a little bland. I added some garlic salt and that really gave it some flavor. Next time I think I will add some crushed red pepper for zest.

Chicken Tortilla Soup I

This was an excellent soup! My husband detests black beans so I used kidney beans instead. It was delicious! This is a great way to use the tortilla chips at the bottom of the bag! We will definitely make this again.

Chantal's New York Cheesecake

Very good cheesecake and very simple. I cut the recipe in half and made it in a premade graham cracker crusts from the grocery store. I don't have a springform pan so I had to improvise. It turned out excellent. I did not do the water bath as some suggested. I just put it in the oven at 350 for 40 mins then turned the oven off and left it for 2 hours. Then I stuck it in the fridge overnight and I didn't get any cracks. We had some for breakfast this morning with our coffee and it was delicious!

Phyllo-wrapped Halibut Fillets with Lemon Scallion Sauce

I would have given this recipe 5 stars except for the sauce. Both my husband and I thought it ruined the flavor of the phyllo wrapped fish. We live in Alaska and catch all our own fish so we make this often using a variety of spices. Play around with the spices and we also make it with every kind of fish possible; cod, salmon, king mackrell, red drum, sea bass and more.
