Apple Breakfast Bread
My family loved it! I did use alternatives though. I used smart balance margarine because it's a healthier fat. I also used 1 cup of agave syrup instead of the white/brown sugar because of it's low glycemic quality. It is still high in calories, but it's all natural, no chemicals like artificial sugars have. Finally, I used 1 cup whole wheat flour and 1 cup non bleached white flour. I am planning on playing with the recipe a little bit more, but in general - it's a really good recipe. I would like to make my own oatmeal flour and use that in replacement of the white flour, and also crush up a half cup of roasted saltless almonds (although my family is not big on nuts in the bread/cake). This would be a great starter recipe to use if you are trying to teach a child how to cook because it's truly so easy, and hard to mess up. Bon appetito'!
