About this Cook
I am in my mid-twenties, and I LOVE to cook. My finance and I have people over every Friday night, and I always like to make something new for everyone to try out. Generally, I make cookies or some kind of dessert, but if people come over early in the evening, I will make some kind of appetizer or dinner. Outside of cooking, I am a huge NY Giants fan! And, no, I am not a bandwagon fan... ever since they won the Super Bowl, that is what people say. But I have actually rooted for them for about 4 years. Lastly, I have a dog, Mugsy, that is spoiled rotten. He's a Giants fan, too.
My favorite things to cook
I am kind of weird about cooking, right now, because I really like to cook everything except the main dish. I love making desserts... this is probably my favorite. And I really like making appetizers, dips, side dishes, and soups. I don't dislike making main dishes, but I prefer the other stuff. Probably my most requested dish is my Spinach/Artichoke Dip. I use extra mozzarella, and I make sure to get the spinach and artichokes really dry, and this makes it really thick.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I only have one cooking tradition at this point. First, I am the "dessert queen" during Thanksgiving. Every year I make about 5-6 pumpkin rolls, and I take them to all of our family events and to work. I also make pecan pie every year, and some type of cookies.
My cooking triumphs
Hmm... Not a whole lot... yet.
My cooking tragedies
Thankfully, nothing worth mentioning.

Best Big, Fat, Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookie
These are the best chocolate cookies ever!! I will not try any other recipes, because this one can't be beat. I made sure to melt the butter, and I chilled the dough for about an hour. This was easy to make, and I will definitely use this recipe for any chocolate chip cookies in the future!

Beth's Spicy Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
I made these cookies without any changes to the recipe, and they turned out wonderful. The only thing that I would change next time is to add a little less ground cloves. Still an excellent cookie, though.

The Best Rolled Sugar Cookies
I did not like this sugar cookie, which really surprised me since it got such a good review. I did add extra sugar, which most of the reviewers said to do, but otherwise I stuck with the recipe as is. The cookies turned out very thin, and when you chewed them, they would stick in your teeth because they were so sugary. Also, I did not take the advice of the reviewer who said to line your cookie sheet with parchment paper (this has never been necessary before, and I make cookies frequently). They ended up sticking to the bottom and I literally had to scrape them off. I don't know if anyone else had these problems, but I am used to making sugar cookies, and I have never had any turn out like this.
