About this Cook
I'm a full time college student and I also work full time. I just got married and love to make meals and desserts for my husband and I. I love to experiment with new ingredients and adjusting recipes to fit our tastes.
My favorite things to cook
Breads . Main Dishes . Desserts . I like to cook from scratch. I know in the fast paced world we live in now that cooking and baking like that seems behind the times, but I get no greater satisfaction than I do from cooking and baking like my Grandma did while I was growing up. Plus, doing it from scratch just tastes better!
My favorite family cooking traditions
My grandma's cooking and baking. There wasn't a thing aout it that I didn't like. I want to be exactly like her and carry on her tradition of exceptional food made from scratch. Peanut Butter Pie was afavorite of my family's...we have it at every family get together and we also make it quite often just to enjoy with a meal!
My cooking triumphs
I find triumph in making a dish that my husband really likes. He's somewhat of a picky eater and so getting him to tell me how much he likes a meal without me prodding him for an answer is a great triumph. It helps taht I'm learning his specific food tastes, and how to meld flavors and spices together.
My cooking tragedies
I made grilled cheese for my husband and I one night. I burnt them so bad that our fire alarms that hadn't gone off in months due to dead batteries went off. I brought dead batteries back to life!

Felix K.'s 'Don't even try to say these aren't the best you've ever eaten, because they are' Chocolate Chip Cookies
I tried this simply because of the title. I can't say that this was the BEST chocolate chip cookie recipe I have ever had, but it is sure up there. These cookies did puff up rather than flatten out, so I flattened my dough balls before baking. I also baked these at 350 for 10 minutes, and that was the perfect amount of time and temperature. I will probably make these again, but isntead subbing applesauce or plain yogurt for the butter next time to cut out some of the fat.

Lighter Banana Muffins
AMAZING!! I used 4 bananas instead of 3 and a 1/4 cup of milk for added moisture. I also added some vanilla and cinnamon. This tastes just like a really great banana bread, but in delicious muffin form! And I LOOOVVVEE how healthy they are!
