This is AMAZING!!! I only used the 2 cups of powdered sugar as most said, and did the raspberry jam thing that CookOfDeath did (in the pic) and it was awesome! My whole family loved it!

These were tasty, but kinda scrawny and pale LOL...Id probably use some sort of lard or something in place of the crisco,roll them thicker, and butter the tops for the last min of cooking or so...I think that would make this recipe much better

my husband who NEVER eats leftovers ate all this up! I even printed it up for friends to make their hubbies...ive also recently made this as a Ruben bake...mmm make sure you rinse drain and squeeze all the water you can out of the sauerkraut I did one layer thin sliced corned beef (or turkey if you like Rachels) sprinkled the sauerkraut, a layer of swiss and another layer of thin sliced corned beef and served it with thousand Island dressing for dipping...this would also be good with roast beef and brie, ham and cheddar, Turkey, bacon and and cheddar, ive made Pepperoni and mozzerella with a jar of pizza sauce for dipping (sprinkle garlic lightly over egg wash)

My family LOVED this at a brunch party I threw!!! I doubled the recipe, added another tablespoon of powdered sugar, and instead of nutmeg I used pumpkin pie spice....WONDERFUL!

I left the skins on the potatoes because my husband loves them and it turned out great, I allowed the roux to go a little bit longer because he likes his potato soup nice and thick, and it still merged into the chicken stock beautifully! Unfortunately i halved this recipe since I was making it for just my husband and I, big mistake, He ate it all...nearly a quart! and I found myself licking the bottom of his empty bowl when I got back into the kitchen...oh wow, did i just admit to that?
