I now live in England and wanted to make a traditional Thanksgiving dinner for my English friends. Of all the recipes for apple pie I searched for, this one looked the most familiar and was easy to make. I too added an extra cup of apples (English cooking apples)and used a deep dish pie plate. The first piece looked as good as the last. My friends raved about the pie the most!
