About this Cook
I am a working mom who loves to cook (when not rushed). My greatest challenge is getting my 3 year old to eat his vegetables.
My favorite things to cook
I love to cook chili, stews, and bake (I have a great pie crust recipe).
My favorite family cooking traditions
We don't cook the traditional Christmas feast. Instead, we try a new recipe for whatever we are in the mood for - Tortila Soup, Kung Pao Chicken, ect.
My cooking triumphs
Baking the perfect pie crust.
My cooking tragedies
Meatloaf. Believe it or not but I can't cook meatloaf to save my life. I make my husband cook it.

Easy Granola Bars
Wow! This was super easy and very yummy. I used granola instead of oats and it turned out just as good. In fact, my teenager said that they tasted a lot better than the Nature's Valley Fruit & Nut granola bars that he loves. Oh, and the suggestion to put the can of condensed milk in warm water worked very well. Great recipe! Thanks for sharing!

Slow Cooked Corned Beef for Sandwiches
Very good. I used 2 irish beers, 1 Tablespoon of garlic, 1 beef boulon, 3 bottles of water (used the beer bottle to measure), and 1 packet of spice mix. Save the broth because I boiled my potatoes for my mashed potatoes and they were EXCELLENT!

Ham Chowder
This was a very good base recipe. I took the advise of many reviewers and used 1/2 the rosemary and added about 1 tbl garlic. To make it a little healthier I omitted the bacon, used 1% milk and added fresh spinach. Thanks for sharing the recipe.
