About this Cook
I am a former music teacher, now a stay at home mom of 2 boys. I love cooking and I am known for my desserts, especially cheesecake. I once had a cheesecake business but had to give it up when my second child was born. I am also a professional vocalist and have a degree in music ed. My cooking is strongly influenced by the wonderful cooks in my life - my mother in laws, my mom, grandmother and good friend Elizabeth.
My favorite things to cook
Cheescakes - favorite 2 are cafe latte and white chocolate raspberry appetizers - all kinds, Italian - chick parm, spaghetti w/ meatballs, Southern Comfort - like Paul Deen, breakfast/brunch items and kid friendly cuisine
My favorite family cooking traditions
Grandmothers' egg casserole and sticky buns for Easter brunch citrus creme brulee baked french toast, sausage - cheese grits casserole, fruit salad for Christmas morning breakfast
My cooking triumphs
Full Thanksgiving meal made in crockpots and stovetop when oven was broken. It was wonderful, despite my hysterical crying after my oven broke the night before Thanksgiving!!!!
My cooking tragedies
When I was 16, I made a cake using bacon grease - I thought it was shortening. The foul smell filled the house and my brother has never let me forget it! Everything I make he asks if it has bacon grease in it!

Turkey Burger Pie
This is a super easy recipe and is a great go to dish for those nights that you need something simple yet tasty. For the time and effort required this is pretty good. I definately suggest adding seasonings. I added salt, pepper, worch, garlic powder, lawry's ss, paprika and hot sauce. I will make again and next time add sage etc. to create a turkey sausage flavor. I served this with hash browns and fruit salad. Everyone was happy and safistied. Thanks!
