Good Old Fashioned Pancakes

Reviewed: Nov. 29, 2009
I followed this recipe exactly. The batter was way too thick and the pancakes themselves ended up being flavorless. I am not sure how this got such good reviews because they were not good.

Baked Chicken Wings

Reviewed: Oct. 27, 2009
My mom makes these wings all the time and the other day I got a huge craving for them and couldn't get a hold of her for the recipe. Thankfully it was right here! I also used this for drum sticks and they came out great and in the same amount of time. I also put some wing sauce on some after I took them out and that made them even better.

Quick Biscuits

Reviewed: Jul. 25, 2009
I have never made biscuits before and to be honest I was sure I would fail at making these. I was so happy when it did work and they tasted great! I don't eat KFC anymore because I think it is digusting, but I always loved their biscuits and these reminded me of KFC's. I served them with 2 kinds of jams and butter. They were gone in minutes. Be careful not to over work the dough, which I am pretty sure I did because I think they could have turned out prettier.

Grandmother's Buttermilk Cornbread

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
This was a really simple recipe and i thought it was ok but my boyfriend loved them. i dont like super sweet corn bread so i only put in half a cup of sugar, which i think changed the taste because they ended up tasting like butter and flour. i also dont like how dense they are but my boyfriend did. i thought they were really good dipped in some goulash i made though

Moms Goulash in the Microwave

Reviewed: May 23, 2009
this was ok. i served it with homemade corn bread but my boyfriend thought it was terrible. it might be because he has always had authentic polish goulash his whole life and this is nothing like that. to make it more like a stew i added water, diced potatoes, and carrots. serving it with sour cream made me like it a lot more.

French Toast II

Reviewed: May 19, 2009
this was really good. i added an extra egg, replaced the nutmeg with vanilla, and served with banana slices. its really important to make sure the slices soak in the egg mixture really well, otherwise they taste to much like toast rather than french toast. this was an extremely easy recipe, so i will be making it often.

New York Cheesecake III

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
this was really good. my only real complaint is that the crust was a little hard to cut with a fork. i followed the directions exactly. i drizzled it with honey and dropped a few blackberries on it when i served the cake. i posted a picture of a slice on here, please look at it. you might drool on your keyboard

Mushroom Burgers

Reviewed: May 15, 2009
these were awesome. my boyfriend engulfed 3 in minutes. I suggest using plenty of seasoned bread crumbs to make these form cakes before placing on skillet. make sure to chop the onion and mushrooms very small, this will also help to keep them in burger form. cooking them long enough on each side helps too. i will try making them vegan in the future. also, i used steak sauce...oyster sauce did not seem like it would match this sandwich to me at all. also, i did not use the olive oil method others have used. i just sprayed the pan with canola oil and it worked perfectly!

Easy Meatloaf

Reviewed: Aug. 27, 2007
I made this meatloaf with my boyfriend. Not only was it delicious but we had a lot of fun making it. At first i was worried that it would be too onion-y, but using the whole onion was well worth it. - or - it was a dark dark scary night and i was home all alone, hungry and scared, i held on to my lonesome thoughts as i sat on the toilet and tried to relax. all of the sudden the hunger kicked in and got off the toilet and walked in the kitchen, opened the fridge and there it was, a big juicy hunk of meat with onions, pepper, and one medium sized egg. without a second thought i clenched my teeth into it and stuck out my tounge... mmmmmmmmm oh my lord it was so meaty and loafy. my night was made. i want you to also digest it and feel its effects. it just... just... magical. may god be with all of you. i love you all.
