Baby's first food
About this Cook
I am a professional chef. I am also a wife and mother. My husband and I have been married for 4 years, we have a very busy (and naughty) 2 year old little boy! I work in an upscale fine dining restaurant but the boys at home are picky eaters! Well, except for my 65 lb. lap dog Elvis (the basset hound), he loves all of my creations!
My favorite things to cook
These days I like easy, quick and crock pot. Luckily, my husband will eat leftovers.
My favorite family cooking traditions
I cook Thanksgiving for my husband, son, parents, my Grandmother, and my husband's parents.
My cooking triumphs
I made my son's babyfood and now I stock my freezer with ready to thaw meals. I make a mean banana bread.
My cooking tragedies
I haven't the time to try anything particularly challenging as my son runs around the house and torments the dog when I am not looking.

Upside Down Pizza
I rate this a 3 because there was nothing wrong with the dish, but I wouldn't make it again. My husband picked at it and I had too much left over. It wasn't anything special. However, it was easy to prep ahead of time and heat up for dinner.

Pear-a-dise Muffins
I rate this 2 stars because it is edible. There is nothing wrong with the recipe, it just doesn't produce a good tasting muffin. They aren't foul, just not really tasty. Too much work for a bland, boring muffin. I doctored the original recipe, using fragrant, ripe pears and added more spice. It didn't help. I would make banana bread or blueberry muffins instead.

Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie
I made this for a cinco de mayo party. It was gone in minutes. Everyone LOVED it. I did use 3/4 cup white sugar in the cream cheese part and 1/4 cup brown sugar in the topping. With the added honey, it was sweet, but not so much it made your teeth ache. I chilled the entire dessert in the fridge overnight and it was very easy to cut. It looked really nice. Very easy and impressive.
